One of my main hobbies is a video game I plan on this (and similar games) to be a major use of my time when I retire early at 40 It may seem childish, but you have to build your life around what makes you happy

What I love about Chase is all these are in 1 account with me and my wife: - Checking - Savings - Credit Cards - Mortgage - Taxable Brokerage Acct - Roth IRA’s And physical branches everywhere. HYSA with Capital One. That’s the only thing Chase sucks on.

@SparkingFIRENC I recently got back into video games but haven’t had much time lately to play. I’ll definitely play more when I’m retired.

My friend is 29. He robbed a bank and has $800,000 that he wants to invest. He thinks $VOO is a little too boring. He likes Bitcoin but thinks it’s too volatile. What would you tell him?

The X platform makes me feel hot and cold. I lose inspiration, then I get a payout and want to try again. Then I try again and miss a payout. While it’s fun to grow on here and build a community, I know that hustling anywhere else would pay more. Anyone else feel this?

I have worked in a corporate office for 15 years. Here is the #1 thing I learned... 90% of people have no idea what they are doing.

@MarketPalmer_ I work with doctors. They either are financial guys or don’t have a clue about money.

Recently learned that 25% of 60-year old doctors have a net worth below $1 million. How…?

I like that! It is funny because a lot of people don't realize how hard it is for people like us to spend haha You'll probably laugh, but one of the reasons I love X monetization is because it is "extra money" I can feel 100% guilt free on spending and thankfully it is actually enough to cover most my "wants" since I am a natural minimalist

@SparkingFIRENC Yes, its eased the stress of spending massively. If i don't use it all one month, I roll it to the next month into the same spending bucket (not a savings bucket), so it forces me to make an effort to spend it and enjoy it.

So far this week we have spent $120 that we weren’t expecting -$30 because our cat ate our leftover meatloaf so we had to go out for lunch 😅 -$35 bill -$55 in stuff we were asked to pick up for a party Anyone who knows me knows that unexpected expenses like this make me physically tense up Sure, we make plenty to be able to afford it, but my scarcity mindset comes out anytime an unexpected expense comes up I’m doing my best to remember to live in the moment and not let things get to me Slowly and surely I am in fact getting better at spending money “unintentionally” when needed

@Strachota73 Has that helped a lot? I could see how it would but I think the added uncertainty would make it hard for me cause I couldn’t track it lol These unexpected expenses really get to me when I can’t track them lol

@SparkingFIRENC I'm right there with you. It is the reason my wife & i have separate accounts. I need to track everything & she spends as needed w/o tracking. I've started budgeting guilt free spending into my budget each month & it is helping me with spending. Baby steps.

@DMC4277 I'd take the 24 hours and do it starting next week lol I would want the option for a couple additional weeks of unpaid time off though In fact, they could get rid of all PTO if I could get 10-12 weeks of unpaid time off

@SparkingFIRENC Assume same job, your choice of 24-36 hrs per week, same health care benefits, same 401k match, pay and PTO is reduced by % of full time, if you work more than scheduled you get paid for those hrs at the same hourly rate.

For the Financial Independence Retire Early (FIRE) crowd: After you hit cost FIRE or hit your FIRE number would you consider taking a part time position with your current employer?
