Most common local woods used for traditional dhoani building 👇🏾 - Hirundhu - Dhigga - Kaani - Funa (one of the best woods due to its fine grain & resilience to insects, salt water, only option for mast building due to strong natural bends) - Ruh vakaru ( mature palm planks ) - Kandhu gas - Bambukey ( commonly used for deck planks on bokkura due to floatability & light weight) - Kuredhi ( iron wood) is a critical wood as it is used to join wooden planks as a long dowel.
