I landed at Dubai at 1:11 am on March 31. The Airbus A380-800 circled twice just before landing, which caused us to arrive 21 minutes late. After disembarking, I was immediately escorted through security as usual to the First Class lounge to wait for my connecting flight. The entire airport was very quiet, with even fewer people in the lounge, especially since half of the area had been closed off. I found a seat in the dining area and ordered two dishes. Just as I was about to start my second course, my phone sounded an alarm, and an airport announcement informed us that all takeoffs and landings had been temporarily suspended. Airport staff quickly led us to the business center next to the dining area for shelter. We waited there for about 10 minutes before the staff began returning to their posts. I went back to my table, and my food was still warm. Apart from this minor incident, everything at Dubai Airport seemed to be operating as normal. These are my 74th and 75th flights with @Emirates, with layovers counted separately. Current flight count stands at 1160.

Heads-up: Pre-market so-called “news” or “Truth” is often just a setup for profit-taking. Basically, it’s a reverse indicator. Do the opposite: If they pump it, short it. If they dump it, go long. See something tomorrow? You know the drill.

A #Roman military diploma issued in AD 71 to Marcus Syrus when he left the military after 26 years of service with the marines. He was originally from Jerash (Jordan) but settled in Pompeii in retirement, where he stored his diploma in his bedside alcove

This is Iran. And every single one of these men are ready to defend their nation and faith. Nothing close to this in the West.

What is the single funniest line Wodehouse ever wrote? No wrong answers, only joy.
