Statement from NFL Referees Association executive director Scott Green: “Apparently ‘League sources’ are continuing to put out false and misleading information instead of wanting to meet at the negotiating table. The bottom line is our officials work for the wealthiest sports league in America, with profits that far exceed any of the others. That’s normally a point of pride for the NFL. However, our officials are substantially under-compensated when compared to baseball and basketball umpires and referees. Our officials also aren't provided the health care benefits that those at 345 Park Avenue have. “As far as performance pay, we had ‘high performing officials’ who worked this year’s Championship games and the Super Bowl who were paid less for those games than what they were paid for a regular season game. That certainly isn't rewarding performance, as the NFL claims is their goal.”
Tom Pelissero@TomPelissero

The NFL has offered its game officials a six-year labor deal with a 6.45% annual growth rate in compensation, while the NFLRA is insisting on 10% plus $2.5 million for marketing fees the league regards as worthless, sources say. The union also continues to resist changes the NFL is insisting upon, including shortening the “dark period” after the Super Bowl, deploying underperforming officials to spring leagues for extra reps and ending a seniority-based system for playoff assignments. “We want to pay for performance,” source said.

First, the individual in question was screaming, yelling, interrupting, and cursing for 45 minutes. He was asked to stop numerous times and finally asked to leave after he refused to stop. Whether he was a veteran or not, that does not given him license to act belligerently and disrupt the event and prevent others from hearing the answers. Second, I didn’t go anywhere. I’ve held 14 town hall meetings and answered hundreds of questions from constituents. I’m one of the few members that actually hold in-person town hall meetings. Third, the Democrats, their media allies, and “influencers” like you try to spin these town hall meetings into organic “confrontations” by voters, when in reality, many of these folks come to agitate solely to get attention and generate click bait. They are not interested in an answer to their questions, they just want to create a show.

🚨Republican Congressman Mike Lawler held a town hall in Rockland County, New York. Veterans stood up and told him exactly what they thought of him and Trump. Lawler had them removed. That made it worse. The crowd turned on him. He had to leave. These are not protesters. These are veterans. People who served. Who buried friends. Who know what war costs because they paid it personally. They looked a Republican congressman in the eye and said what they thought. He called security.

It's 11 in the morning, and so far, I have been called a stupid b*tch, a wh*re, and a c*nt. Was told to suck more c*ck. Is it me, or are people becoming more unhinged as they go unchecked online? It amazes me how comfortable people are being absolutely vile and horrible to others just because they dont agree with their political views. Civil discourse is dead.

@TheSWPrincess @aa_rronswag @grahamformaine @JulieA77669619 Were you out here calling Mamdani "unqualified for office" as well? Maybe stop going after the folks who have any shred of integrity in politics and actually look at who's ruining this country. But I'm assuming those people are paying you, so...

@aa_rronswag @gestinky @grahamformaine @JulieA77669619 We know. That doesn't mean it's a good idea to put unqualified people in office. And I'm damn sure not going to accept that the self proclaimed military history buff didn't know what that tattoo meant until after his campaign started.

@doug07leos @davebirkett @LoganPage1027 correct. and ~if~ he did, it would have been retalitory. so i really wish our local media would stop framing him as some bad actor. even if he acted outside the law, perhaps it was bc the law did not help him when he was a victim in the first place. maybe that's the problem here!

@aa_rronswag @TheSWPrincess @gestinky @grahamformaine @JulieA77669619 Trump & Platner are similar in that they both said a lot of bigoted things in their past, yet both have an audience who love their virtue signaling & offer endless charity & applause. Locker room talk is now Marine talk. "But I was in my 50s" is now "But I was in 30s."

Lions CB Terrion Arnold's name was mentioned in a text thread tied to a kidnapping case in Florida. His attorney told me, "The fact that he knows some of these people is hardly evidence he committed a crime and we believe he’s not going to be charged.” freep.com/story/sports/n…

Politicians - especially Dems - should pledge not to take AI money. They are buying up influence ahead of the midterms, and Dems who take AI $ will lose authority and trust as the public bears the cost. Their money will end up being toxic anyway. People are catching on.

There’s just no way the median adult you pass on the street can’t read an NYT article. Do they do it daily or even weekly? No! But you better believe they reading words online, reading an email from their boss, scanning the letter from collections etc

I refuse to believe that most Americans can not read at a 7th grade level If this is “true” then it means we are simply measuring literacy incorrectly; 163M Americans are actively employed Can your 6th grader read an employment contract? Read heavy machinery instructions?

If you have the basic skills to participate in the discourse at all — like you can read and comprehend a New York Times article in order to complain about it — you’re in a weird, out of touch, elite bubble. slowboring.com/p/in-defense-o…

@VPSocialSec @AddisonAitch @DLFPtweets @That1LionsFan Here's a FA success rate breakdown over the last decade from one of the top statisticians in sports. Free agent CBs play to the value of their contract less than 45% of the time. Instead, resign the young players you developed, who are familiar with scheme, and you know are good
