@gregogallagher I absolutely disagree. Imagine telling a lean sub 10% bodyfat person that he needs the same amount of protein as the fluffy 20% guy. LBM is a much better way to calculate protein needs but bodyfat also must be considered.

Easiest way to hit your daily protein needs. 1 lbs of lean meat (can eat all at dinner or split it up over two meals). Greek yogurt bowl with some protein powder mixed in. That’s plenty.

No your protein needs don’t increase as you get leaner. They only increase as your lbm goes up. And absolutely not. Large energy deficits directly suppress testosterone. And large deficits also result in greater risk of muscle loss. The body is constantly sensing energy availability, and it reacts much more aggressively to large gaps between calories in vs. calories out than to a steady, moderate deficit

@gregogallagher Yes, once you have “sufficient” protein there isnt any additional benefit to consuming more protein. However as you get leaner, your needs for protein increase The hormonal question is more interesting. Imo an aggressive cut is best as it minimizes the time in a starved state

@TidePodGlo No. Once you have enough, you have enough. In fact, going even higher in a deficit just means sacrificing precious fats and carbs that supports hormonal output. Correct heavy lifting is most important.

One solid leg workout per week is plenty! If you really want to train legs again do some hill sprints. Just 3-4 sprints. Distance that takes 6-10 seconds is good
