No momento que a Nikki (A NIKKI VERDADEIRA) finalmente consegue falar com o Bear e ela pede e implora para ele a matar, que ela não aguentava mais ficar presa naquele tormento e a primeira coisa que ele pergunta é “O que há de tão errado em estar comigo?” Foi ai que eu percebi, o que ja tava meio obvio ao longo de todo o filme, ELE É O VILÃO, ELE É O FRACASSADO OBSESSIVO QUE OBRIGOU UMA GAROTA A FICAR NUM RELACIONAMENTO COM ELE! obsession was really terrifying bc one man became infatuated with the idea of a woman for years and feels entitled to her and makes a wish that she'll fall in love with him more than anyone else in the entire world and when his wish comes true he doesn't care that she's not in control of herself while they're together and that it was not consensual. he wanted her to be devoted to him so she could cater to his unfulfilled needs until she became inconvenient. when she becomes "too much" he wishes for her to be normal and genuinely believes he's the victim in a situation he created. this movie has me thinking about the larger societal framing of how people view women who are emotionally reactive as dangerous and uncredible, when in reality, they are trying to deal with the trauma of being put in harmful and violent situations by predatory and abusive men.
