This government is focused on the cost of living. At @educationgovuk, we're saving families cash: £450 on free breakfast clubs £50 on school uniforms £500 on free school meals £300 on school holiday clubs Now it's confirmed we've halved childcare costs, saving parents £8,000.

Following yesterday's disruption, we're now experiencing network-wide issues, and therefore, we have no tram services operating at any of our stops across the network. All NCT services will accept tram tickets and travel cards. thetram.net/service-status

@ShabanaMahmood We have this every world cup when the truth is pubs can apply for late licences and always have been able too for years no change and nothing to do with you.

With later kick‑offs at this year's world cup, we don't want pubs to blow the final whistle before the winning goal.     So we’re showing red tape the red card and taking pub hours to extra time so fans can get another round in without missing a single kick.    We're toasting our boys at the world cup and our locals this summer. Fans won't need to go home, before Football's come home.

@EastMidRailway Therecare trains of other operators between Sheffield and Stockport on those date so the question is why has EMR given up running beyond Sheffield as they could still reach Stockport.

@CamTrains @joegooner86 @EastMidRailway Or they could do what they do with the subway at Stockport/the bridge at Derby give the public a bridge ticket that they hand in at the other end. But that would be custumer friendly somthing EMR aren't.

@joegooner86 @EastMidRailway The problem they have is that the station footbridge is a public right of way In order to ticket barrier the bridge, they would have to remove the public right of way This is legally difficult, and would be potentially subject to challenge in court Sheffield has the same issue

From 6 February 2026, EMR will close access between the footbridge and platforms at Nottingham station at weekends. This is in addition to current restrictions in place every night between 7pm and 6am, which came into force in August last year. Since then, data has shown there has been a significant reduction in assaults, leading to the decision to extend the closure over weekends. This will improve security and safety, deter vandalism and reduce fare evasion. Read more 👇 news.eastmidlandsrailway.co.uk/news/nottingha…

@ParchAled @EastMidRailway Can answer that for you know. Some elderly rekatives un there 80's arrived un on a train late at night that was 5 late giving them 7 mins no help offered had to wait 90 mins for tge next one. The staff just laughed when they asked for alternative transport.

@EastMidRailway How does that help people with tight connections between trains? The MCT at Nottingham is 8 minutes. Is it possible for a passenger with mobility issues and luggage to make an 8 minute connection between distant platforms if the footbridge is shut? Will you hold trains for them?

@EastMidRailway Does this data include leaving elderly passengers waiting 90 minutes because the 1st train was 5 minutes late and the conbection from platform 4 to 7 is about 3 miles. They would have made it if the centre bridge was open. Where do we find this data you talk about.

Yet again @Nigel_Farage is in a complete mess on @TimesRadio. Another change of answer as to whether he racially abused his classmates. Why is it so difficult for him to just apologise to those who have bravely come forward?

Condemnation costs nothing. Inaction costs lives. Over 500 aid workers in Gaza have already paid the price. Disease, malnutrition and the collapse of medical care now define life for Gazans. There is no justification left. Aid must flow immediately.

We now have two versions of the nasty party in Britain, and they're both competing to see who can be nastier. Only Labour takes action to make sure your background doesn't determine what you can go on to achieve. Only Labour will tackle child poverty. inews.co.uk/news/politics/…
