A High Court judgment details how a witness to a mass shooting narrowly escaped death after trying to report the perpetrators to police. After giving information at a police station, he received a call from a relative while walking home, asking what he had done. The gunmen were already at his house, waiting for him. Realising the danger, he turned back and returned to the station. There, he encountered a different officer, one of the honest ones who ensured his safety. The matter was escalated to provincial level, and a plan was made to relocate him to his village in the Eastern Cape. But just before they could reach their destination, another warning came through: armed men were at his home. The officer was forced to turn back to Cape Town. The witness was then hidden in a secure location known only to the investigating officer until the trial was finalised. The shooters were eventually convicted and sentenced. He was one of the fortunate few, many witnesses in similar cases do not live to tell their stories

@itchybyte I have decided to just tolerate and deal with the side effects from gluten from now on. Those gluten free bread rolls taste like nothing and IMO and from the personal experience of them they sap joy.

@MarkDC44424252 @DereleenJ can speak for herself but this is a woman who knows too well how addiction affects families and communities. It is a terrible disease and she has been fighting the cruelty of this scourge for years, often with a broken heart, long before she was an MP so back off.

@MarianneValen20 It's very expensive but the sliced gf bread is not the worst. Freeze and take out as you need. The hot dog rolls are okay too, if a bit chewy. There's also the gf self bake bread from Dischem (again, quite expensive).

"normal" wholemeal bread rolls left on their shelves. EW! 🤢🤮at how those gluten free wholewheat bread rolls taste of nothing! Never again in my life! I would far rather have a runny nose and bouts of sneezing from eating bread with gluten in it.

The last days of F.E. Myer, an old abandoned factory that had been through many owners and many uses, located in Ashland, Ohio. We visited this place in July of 2019 to do a final documentation; demolished in August. Taken on my old Nikon D300. Sometimes, timing is everything.
