When I'm picking a typeface to pair with a symbol my brain goes into full lumon mode. There's just a feeling when it clicks. You know it when you see it. It just emits an energy. It pulls you in.

@jdreeves Most clients definitely don’t. And most people in their audience won’t. I’ve known some designers that have go to fonts for their specific variations and they don’t budge from that list.

i love it when you use the newest, coolest sans on the block with a non-designer-y client and they call it 'arial' or 'helvetica'. really gives you insight into how it's perceived by the average person. you think your uncle would notice the tweaks to the counter of the a?????

What a good life. I'm struggling big time with parenting my wonderful teenagers (the adult two of whom aren't speaking with me), and it hurts like hell to let go of what I wanted parenting to look like... ... and the birds are chirping, the sun is shining, and I'm breathing.

@oykun I had 8 or 9 at once during a season. Now, max of 3, but that’s rare. 1-2 almost of the time.
