There’s this remarkably profound principle in the wisdom literature of the Hebrew Scriptures . . . • “Wounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy.” [ prov 27:6 nlt ] • I’ve been thinking a lot about this the past few weeks . . .

@frankthetank111 Not only that but this logic prioritizes the 4 “most deserving” teams, not the 4 “best,” which is what CFP Exec Dir Bill Hamilton stated was the goal from the beginning—4 Best Teams. Vegas would have Washington, FSU & Texas as underdogs vs UGA, Bama, Michigan or Ohio St.

@frankthetank111 “Power” 5 doesn’t mean what it used to, nor are the each of those conference schedules equally powerful. Proof? The “power” conference you want to leave out has won 13 of the last 17 titles. Your logic says strength of schedule doesn’t matter.

Take the names off the jerseys: when there are 3 undefeated P5 champs and a 1-loss P5 champ that beat the other 1-loss P5 champ head-to-head, it shouldn’t really be a debate.

@TimBrando @FSUFootball I don't know why we need to make this difficult. Mr. Frank the Tank makes it logically simple.

The truth that Georgia or Bama is better than Florida St. may be correct, but in its history an undefeated Power 5 Conference Champion has NEVER been left out. Anything besides @FSUFootball being in will only prove how corrupt this process has been from the jump. The 0 matters!

Talan goes the extra mile to be successful. He is willing to sacrifice his free time so that he is ready every Friday. That dedication and work ethic is gonna propel him to be one of the top kickers in this state when it’s all said and done.

“He Gets Us” is something we're just not getting. This past Sunday, history was made. Two ads pointing people to Jesus were run for the first time EVER during the Super Bowl, which is turning out to be the third-most watched television show in history. An estimated 113 million people tuned in. And the campaign was blasted by both sides of the faith spectrum. Non-believers questioned why that much money was spent on ads instead of humanitarian efforts like feeding the hungry or housing the homeless. Or they didn’t agree with causes supported by some of the organizations funding the effort. “Jesus doesn’t need a PR team,” they said. Believers also questioned why that much money was spent on ads instead of humanitarian efforts like feeding the hungry or housing the homeless. Or they didn’t agree with the messaging of the ads. “Jesus doesn’t need a PR team,” they said. But many of his followers do. I don’t have a theology degree, but I have been helping churches reach people for over 25 years—because most of them are getting it wrong. I personally know more people who don’t want anything to do with church (and subsequently the ‘Jesus they follow’) BECAUSE of their experiences with church people. It’s Christianity that has the PR problem. I believe the Church with a capital C is the primary reason why so many people are far from God. We can blame culture all we want, but when others experience us up close, we’re the ones doing the most damage. They watch leaders of faith persecute those who fall and believers rip each other to shreds online while speaking of the unconditional love of our Father. There’s little credibility to what we say because of what we DO. Some of the best examples of people I know that modeled their lives after Jesus’ teachings never set foot in a church and would be deeply offended if you called them a Christian. Some of the worst offenders are in church every week, or leaders of it, using the Bible as a weapon. Super Bowl ads are just purchased attention. The goal is to create conversations resulting from the attention. Getting people to talk about your brand in a positive way, with the hopes of eventually making a purchase. So leverage the work of the campaign’s efforts. Talk about Him regardless if you do/don’t agree with the people behind the work. Rise above denominational differences. Political differences. Personal preferences. Focus on HIM. Ask people you know that don’t attend church—people who may not be sure WHAT they believe about Jesus—what they thought about the campaign. Then listen. Ask questions related to His ministry. How He lived. How He loves each person so deeply that He was willing to die for them. And then listen some more. Yes, maybe 1300 people could have been permanently housed with the ad budget. Or 113 million might find their permanent home. Feeding people today versus feeding them forever. Reaching new people requires trying new ways. Because whether we like it or not, the “usual way” isn’t as effective as it once was. Focusing on “the Bible says” isn’t enough for those who aren’t convinced if the Bible is even true. God has always prioritized relationships. So reach out to people in your circle and view this as another tool to create conversations. #HeGetsUs

Having preached here in Asbury chapel leading 100s of Asbury students in prayer late into the night, I am thrilled to hear the credible reports of a new, powerful work of the Spirit breaking out there over these last six days, and now beginning to spread to other universities
