@peggy_blair So we shouldn't consider training in fraud prevention if we can't know whether training could have prevented this specific fraud? Scanning the ID using the existing tool may have stopped this, and training could have raised awareness of its use.

@keyvan613 *involved. But I'm still wondering why this transaction was able to close. The lawyer representing the sellers also needs to verify ID and I have the same question about the bank. The proceeds would have been paid in the name of the real seller. How did that cheque get cashed?

@peggy_blair Curious if you have thoughts on fraud prevention training, and adopting use of the tool. Why isn't fraud prevention part of the training for realtors, with refreshers as fraud trends evolve. Even I had basic fraud prevention training when working as a cashier at Zellers years ago

My guess is that the realtors who vetted these tenants didn't run a credit check. A credit check might have exposed this information, but the idea that we would verify driver's licenses? It just doesn't happen.

I keep hearing that truckers are REQUIRED by law to take 30 min breaks therefore ensuring the Tesla Semi will not impact efficiency (I.e. when charging)

There will be a lot of lessons from this campaign. I hope one of them is for our new mayor @_MarkSutcliffe to understand how deeply alienated the core feels. We contribute the most to city revenues, have great problems and our concerns are used as fodder for culture wars.

@mirgray @rolling_enigma After 10 months of reflection, he still can’t accept an ounce of responsibility for anything that went wrong. Others made mistakes & he faced factors out of his control, but can’t he acknowledge his mistakes as person in charge? Can’t feel bad for someone so out of touch.

@grahamctv This is what CTV reported, which doesn’t line up with Deans’ recording and the surprise walk-on motion: “Mayor Jim Watson offered Deans the chance to resign when he learned of the plan, but she refused, sources said. As a result, Watson led an effort to oust her from the board.”
