From the stunning ground itself, with its views of the old gas works and across to the London Eye and high-rise skyline, on to the riverside with the old towers of Battersea Power Station encased in new glass structures shimmering in the sunshine, over to the Thames with its ornate bridges, through the glamour of Chelsea and the grandeur of South Kensington, on again to the magnificent Royal Albert Hall and the glistening Albert Memorial, past Kensington Gardens and its horse chestnuts heavy with candles in full bloom, past the tree-lined avenues of Kensington, and on to Notting Hill with its painted houses and buzzing street life. A gleaming citadel to be proud of.
