Krishna's rebuke afterwards shows the complex ideological issues & various approaches to solve those philosophical questions that form the essence of the epic. But idiots can't comprehend such complexity & rant. Pity.

Dice game symbolises the wit of the player. That's why in the coronation of Kings, he is made to win to symbolise his superior wit. That's why Yudhishthir's episode is important as it shows his "stupidity" at the moment & it required divine help to solve the problem. +
Piyush Kulshreshtha@ThinkersPad

Yudhishthir lost his kingdom, staked his wife & almost lost her were it not for “divine” intervention of Krishna. The whole episode led to a massive destruction of mankind, on Indian Subcontinent. But what is the learning? This is the culture we want coz its in texts. 😂😂😂

The Indian tendency to glorify & idealise the past is a serious problem. No, our ancestors didn't live a perfect life. If you study any period of Indian history, all the problems be it social, political, economic etc that we face today were there in those times. +

🧵 India, by virtue of being a continent masquerading as a country needs a Chakravartin to protect its Deva, Desa & Dharma. Chanakya says it is the necessary prerequisite to establish Dharma & "Yogakshema" (सुखस्य मूलं धर्मः। धर्मस्य मूलं अर्थः।अर्थस्य मूलं राज्यम्।). +

The Harappan civilization spanned what is now Pakistan and northwest India, and instead of discussing history in a reasonable manner, this platform is loaded with people arguing over whether the biggest or best part is in one country or the other. Low IQ stuff. Did the adults all go to Bluesky?

@DDust08 @DrDavidMiano @thar_ol Why do you think they're talking about My Invasion/migration/picnic theory then ? Atleast Afzal Khan level contribution they want to make.

😆 Agree though would respectfully reword your last line - 'Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj fought for Hindavi Swarajya with a sword in one hand and strategy in the other... while Ms. Fraudery is out here accidentally advancing the same cause with nothing but multiple nuclear-level outburst. Legend says even the Marathas are taking notes. 😂

Thank you Audrey. Your incessant illiterate outbursts help in exposing the moronic academia & it's lousy "Indic studies", exposing decades if not centuries of propaganda & reversing them. Ch Shivaji may or may not have fought for Hindus, but you surely are.😊
Audrey Truschke@AudreyTruschke

Nice to be quoted here, on Shivaji, caste, and Hindu identity — “Shivaji would be highly confused by modern allegations that he was fighting for Hindus.” nytimes.com/2026/05/31/wor…

@DDust08 @DrDavidMiano @thar_ol He is such a great comedian isn't he ? Really witty. Even I was fooled by him, thinking he is an academic. But a lot of them ARE comedians so not completely wrong either.

Big LOL , you give yourself away with that comment - 'if this is your understanding of Hinduism' 🙄. People with such a shallow grasp should stop evaluating the history of India, because their fundamental understanding of Hinduism and Indian civilization is greatly flawed. Unlike America, which largely wiped out its native populations to build a settler's police state, India represents a continuous civilization that has endured for millennia. It has evolved and remodeled itself seamlessly over the centuries- from Vedic to Puranic Hinduism- without any complete break or erasure of its civilizational continuity. Also, modern-day Hinduism does not mean we have abandoned the ancient Vedic elements, we continue to practice and preserve them even today.

David Miano@DrDavidMiano

@thar_ol Hinduism arose only after the second urbanization and move to the Ganges region. Prior to that time, we call it Vedic religion or Brahmanism.

@SenthilPrasadh7 Do you have proof ? Just about anyone is claiming to be an Aryan while discrediting the millennia old tradition of Indians calling themselves Aryans. Didn't hear anyone dying to claim that before the British came up with the idiotic theory about Aryan invasion did you ?

Every time you read about Ch Shivaji, his grasp of Grand Strategy astounds the mind. The moment he captures Nizamshahi Konkan, he sets about building a Navy. It is extraordinary when you read about the (lack of) naval ships/strategy of other powers like Mughals, Adilshahis etc.

This is curious drivel. All of west idealizes roman & greek civilization and histories, Muslims sing praises of achievements of Abbasids, Ottomans, persians & Mughald to their hearts content and yet you will never hear them getting lectured on "glorifying & idealizing" the past.

What happens in absence of a Chakravartin is a story too well known & experienced by Indians. Therefore the Republic, if it wants to uphold Yogakshema needs to be united. Only a united India can provide the conditions for individuals to pursue Dharma, Artha, Kãma & Moksha.
