GALLUP POLL: 42% of men aged 18-29 now say religion is "very important" in their lives — a sharp jump from just 28% in 2022-2023. Monthly religious attendance among young men has climbed to 40% (up from 33%), the highest level in over a decade. news.gallup.com/poll/708410/yo…

Unholiness ought not to stop a sinner from coming to Christ, [any] more than a disease ought to hinder a man to take the physician’s help. —Thomas Boston, Works 2:1

A woman was legally required to kill her baby in the third trimester because the “commissioning parents” for the surrogacy demanded it, and threatened a lawsuit. The baby was missing two fingers, so the people purchasing this precious child demanded it be aborted, per their contract. This is eugenics. It’s murder. It’s a baby trade, and it needs to be criminalized.

This is the most dystopian thing I’ve ever seen. Two gay guys have someone’s baby. He asks the baby who he wants. Baby says, “mama” He tells the baby “there is no mama.. you have dada or pop” Baby cries. There is no mama.

Our soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you. ~ Psalm 33:20-22

I feel so dumb after leaving Mormonism. Decades lost on fantasy and contradictory doctrine that they no longer even support. Hours spent on dead people in the temple, tens of thousands of dollars "donated" that I'll never gain benefit from. I've got a lot of catching up to do.

@DiscipleFidei Mormon apologists today work really hard to deconstruct past prophets. Even the founder.

Mormons have stopped seeking new truth; they are now occupied with making their past claims appear coherent.

Given that I have been critical of the pope in the last few days, including on his self-described communion with Muslims, I do want to take a minute to remind Southern Baptists that our leadership has taken similar stances. The former president of the Southern Baptist Convention, JD Greear, wrote in his book Breaking the Islam code that Muslims and Christians worship the same God. And the former head of our lobbying arm, Russell Moore, argued that we must advocate for the building of mosques in the United States. So this strange promotion of Islam within Christianity is happening all over. Both Catholics and Protestants should be asking why their leadership is doing this.

No man can be thoroughly humbled until he knows that his salvation is utterly beyond his own powers, devices, endeavors, will, and works, and depends entirely on the choice, will, and work of another, namely, of God alone. ~ Martin Luther

@SaturdaysWar Correct because the Book of Mormon is a dynamic functional translation given in the lexicon available to Joseph Smith.

No where does the Bible ever mention “the Bible” No where in the Bible does it claim inerrancy. These are later theological presuppositions that are not derived from the text. And “god breathed” in the first century meant life giving when you see how it is used in other 1st century texts.

This is the kind of thing you say if you’ve not meaningfully interacted with how Christ interacts with Scripture in the gospels. Any system outside of Sola Scriptura is really just Sola Ecclesia. Pure allegiance to fallible men claiming authority over an infallible Word.

@ThoughtfulSaint This is false. Jesus identified Scripture as being spoken by God. God cannot lie. All He says is true. Therefore Scripture is without error. "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." John 17:17

Jesus and Satan both have their source and origin in the father. This is not just an LDS teaching. ——- “Since the Son’s origin (arche) is from the Father, in this respect the Father is greater, as cause and origin. This is why the Lord says, “My Father is greater than I.” Indeed, what else does the word Father signify unless being the cause and origin of that which is begotten of Him? (St Basil, Against Eunomius, 1.25)...

@ThoughtfulSaint Can you post what teaching I should go to from a prophet or apostle to show that Jesus and Satan are not both spirit children of Heavenly Father?

@ThoughtfulSaint Not according to Scripture. Christ is co-eternal (unlike humans) with the Father, creator, is worshipped, the author of life, and Sovereign. So no Jesus was not a spirit brother to Satan. Jesus created him.

@Lets_Talk_HC Appeal to authority is valid when the authority is. Scripture caries the nature of its author. True, eternal, without error, clear, sufficient. Heb 6:13, Matt 22:31

Protestantism dies on this one principle: no one gets the final say on the correct interpretation of scripture. They even go as far to say that “scripture interprets scripture”, which is such an incoherent thing to say, I don’t even know where to begin. Without an authority able to interpret your canon (assuming you have the correct one and it’s correct in its content), you can never know if you are understanding it correctly. And asserting that it’s “clear enough” insomuch that no interpretation is needed is laughable and baseless. You can assert something, but can you justify it?
