@randallwcarlson Most scholars estimate the weight of the Ark, including contents, to be a little under 200lbs. Some estimates put it as much as 325lbs since the thickness of wood and gold overlay is unknown. Whichever end of that range is accurate it was not “extraordinarily heavy.”

Randall Carlson@randallwcarlson·
Randall holds a position that he frames not as speculation but as a scientific probability - levitation was a genuine technological reality for ancient cultures, and the evidence for it is hiding in plain sight within the most well known sacred object in biblical history. The Ark of the Covenant was sheathed in gold, making it extraordinarily heavy - and yet the accounts are consistent that no one could touch it directly. It was carried on staves by a single tribe, the Levites, the only one among the twelve tribes of Israel permitted to transport it. The linguistic detail Randall encountered while studying mystery traditions like Kabbalah - traditions that hold hidden meanings within language itself - stopped him in his tracks. Levites. Levitation. He presents it not as definitive proof but as the kind of coincidence that, once noticed, refuses to be dismissed. A tribe whose name encodes the very phenomenon that would explain how they moved an object too heavy and too dangerous for ordinary human handling - chosen specifically and exclusively for that task - is a detail Randall argues deserves considerably more scrutiny than it has received. The Kabbalah tradition's insistence that words conceal their deepest meanings may, in this case, have preserved a technical truth hidden in a name for thousands of years.

🚨 COSTCO CEO JUST ATE HIS OWN PRODUCT ON CAMERA — THEN SAID SOMETHING NOBODY EXPECTED Costco’s CEO Ron Vachris just sat down and did the “CEO eats his own product” test… and went straight for the $1.50 hot dog combo. Then he says it: the price isn’t changing. No increase. No timeline. No “we’ll revisit.” In 2026… while food prices keep climbing… this one thing is locked in place. First the McDonald’s CEO goes viral eating his own $12 "product." Now the Costco CEO eats a $1.50 hot dog. Same move… completely different message. Which one actually feels more real to you?

@DasLittleBodhi @GovMikeKehoe Comparing CA to MO taxes doesn’t make sense. Apples and oranges. I work with seniors who are spending 1.5 months (or more) of their Social Security on their property taxes, just to stay in their home that has been paid off for years. This is not sustainable.

Missouri’s tax code was built for the past 100 years. Our economy demands one for the next 100 years. It's time to phase-out and eliminate Missouri’s individual income tax.

@kevintmccauley7 @GovMikeKehoe The senior property tax freeze is helpful, but if the increase has already taken place it’s locked but still unaffordable. A widow on Social Security may owe 1.5 months (or more) of her income just to stay in her family home. That’s not sustainable.

@aigkenham I don’t believe this is so. I do think, however, that the majority of the church may not agree with a particular interpretation of Genesis 1-11. There’s a huge difference in the inerrancy of Scripture and the inerrancy of an interpretation. Conflating the two is dangerous.

@AngelMD1103 If a person chooses to build or purchase a home in an HOA, they need to abide by the guidelines of the HOA, as onerous as they may be. There is a solution: don’t buy in an HOA regardless of how attractive the house or price may be. I have chosen a rural lifestyle intentionally.

A homeowner installs a fence for privacy and security, only to receive two HOA violation notices, one because the fence is a few inches too high, and another because the color isn’t perfectly uniform throughout. Frustrated but with little choice, he cuts the fence down, removes sections of wood, and repaints it to match the approved shade exactly. Honestly, rules can help keep neighborhoods cohesive, but when they force costly and time-consuming changes over minor details, it can feel less about harmony and more about control. Balance matters, especially when homeowners are just trying to improve their own property. At what point do community standards cross the line into micromanagement?

@shipwreckshow I’ve read it. It is not “newly found” but was written in the late 2nd century (not written by Mary Magdalene). It was rediscovered in the 1890s having been rejected as heretical not by the Catholic Church (which didn’t exist yet) but by the ancient Christians.

If it appears that God has done a special work in someone and then that person falls away into gross errors or scandalous practices, that is no argument that the work in general is not the work of the Spirit of God. That there are some counterfeits is not an argument that nothing is true. Such things are always expected in a time of reformation. Every great revival of the Christian faith has been attended with many such things. Instances of this nature in the apostles’ days were too numerous to be counted. —Jonathan Edwards

Stuff like this was happening all over America in the 1990s, you just didn't see it blasted all over social media. America has been a "revivalist" type nation for hundreds of years, due to the influence of Arminianism, especially. The question is, do rallies like this produce "lasting fruit" and the answer more often than not is "no." Take Billy Grapham for example who stated he would be happy if just 5% of people who attended his revivals were truly saved. What about the 95% of people who left this thinking they were, but went on to live lives like the devil?
Ross Johnston@revivalistross

Hundreds of public high school students surrender their lives to Jesus in Texas! God is saving America. God is saving this generation. Watch for yourself…

This is indeed a wild portion of Scripture! And fun to ponder. If I may, I would like to share my theory: When Jesus was raised from the dead, there was some kind of very real power from God Himself that was released. We tend to think of it as a spiritual force, but whatever it was, it actually affected the physical world in dramatic ways. The text explicitly says the earth shook. We may not understand the physics of it, but Scripture is clear that something happened that bridged the unseen realm and the material creation. So when Matthew says that “many holy ones” came out of their tombs after Jesus’ resurrection (Matthew 27:52–53), these were not resurrections unto immortality. These were resuscitations, temporary restorations of life, similar to the raising of Lazarus (John 11:43–44), the widow’s son (1 Kings 17:22), or Jairus’s daughter (Mark 5:41–42). All of these individuals were restored to mortal life and later died again. Scripture is very clear that the resurrection unto immortality takes place in distinct stages. Paul lays this out in 1 Corinthians 15:20–24: First, Christ, the firstfruits. Then at His coming, the resurrection of those who belong to Him. And finally, after His kingdom reign, the resurrection of the wicked for judgment (cf. Revelation 20:5–6, 11–15) So whatever power was unleashed at the moment of Jesus’ resurrection not only shook the earth but apparently caused some of the nearby righteous dead to experience temporary restoration. If the Shroud of Turin is authentic, its scorch-like image may be a physical artifact of that same burst of power. In the West we often think in overly rationalistic categories and assume “spiritual” means “immaterial.” The Bible doesn’t teach this. Scripture shows again and again that spiritual events can produce physical manifestations: earthquakes, blinding light, voices, storms, altered matter (Exodus 19:18; Daniel 10:7–9; Acts 9:3–4). This is also why the general resurrection, at Jesus’ return, is described as an event accompanied by a global shaking. Isaiah says the earth will “shake violently” (Isaiah 24:19–20). Jesus Himself connects His coming with cosmic disturbances (Matthew 24:29–31). John foresaw an earthquake “such as there had not been since mankind came to be on the earth” (Revelation 16:18). If the resurrection of one Man produced an earthquake and opened tombs, what will the resurrection of all the righteous be like? So that’s my take. Matthew is pulling back the curtain just long enough to show that the resurrection of Jesus was not a quiet, symbolic moment. It was the first shockwave of the New Creation breaking into the old. And everything nearby literally felt it.
Uri Kurlianchik@VerminusM

There's a totally insane passage in Matthew I've never heard of before reading it just now. As the tomb of Jesus was opened, "The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people." Sort of like a benevolent zombie apocalypse. How on earth does this huge thing not get any further development or mention? Dozens of people coming back from the dead and roaming the city. Imagine the panic! Imagine the scandal! How is this just two verses?!
