@_tobiajayi @X @keeponboard My pleasure, productivity was a part of my journey for many years, I can definitely say, that I'm still learning. Some days are 90%, some days are 30%, it's just the way it is :)

@markpekel @X @keeponboard That’s helpful, thanks for sharing. The interesting part for me is that the review creates awareness. Without looking back, it’s hard to know what’s actually helping or hurting your progress over time. Appreciate the perspective.

@_tobiajayi @X @keeponboard In GTD there's a practice called weekly review, in which you cover all that you done, how you did it, and if you have time, you start to plan based on that the week ahead. It doesn't work for a lot of people IMO, but It works for me.

@markpekel @X @keeponboard Without that visibility, it’s hard to know which habits, decisions, or patterns are helping and which are holding you back. How have you personally developed that awareness?

historically, the best opportunities appear when fear is at its peak and everyone expects lower prices. 🤷🏽‍♂️short term downside is always possible, but risk/reward for quality assets is becoming increasingly attractive. trade your assets on @Hertzflow_xyz

@Xaniwn @X So, you catch them with freebies and try to monetize after? Or is that your experience and you mentioned, as a consumer?

@markpekel @X Off the top of my head I'd say the free stuff. And that's speaking as a consumer myself

@markpekel @X I’m building Execution AI, a system that connects long-term goals to daily execution while helping people identify the patterns behind their follow-through. Right now, I’m focused on understanding who experiences this problem most and if understanding their pattern is of value.

I'm a GTD (Getting Things Done)/Pomodoro practitioner, but these methods teach you how to be productive, not what to do with your time. I was in early SaaS, built an HRM product, after that, I built a marketing/growth/product agency, sold both did growth for companies, and now I'm here. You get the grit, workflows, and experience if you stay in the game, as simple as that, no magic tricks. No one can teach that, although there are a lot of frameworks out there that you can try and see what fits you.

@markpekel @X @keeponboard Curious though, with everything involved in building a product, how do you personally stay accountable to the goals you set for yourself? Have you built any systems, routines, or processes that help you stay on track?

@markpekel @X @keeponboard I like the idea of “retention negotiation.” Curious, when you’re building onboarding experiences, do you think the biggest challenge is helping users understand the product, or helping them build the habit of returning to it?

@markpekel @X I'll start from mine, the no dashboard needed. Your dashboard is a thing of old, a way to aggregate data, not to act on it.

@_tobiajayi @X Hi Tobi! Followed you, welcome onboard! Left also a few thoughts about the issue you mentioned. I'm building @keeponboard 😅 - Onboarding, retention, and churn prevention platform for builders and founders. Also, care to contribute your thoughts here? x.com/markpekel/stat…

When I leaned down to collect my dog's "morning deposit" on my neighbor's grass today, I realized... Most SaaS teams in startups, solo founders, and builders, treat onboarding like a checklist. ✅✅☑️☑️☑️ That's wrong, and it's killing onboarding my friends. You see, I don't know where my dog will “powder his nose” next, but I have to give him some options and make sure he does it, because the alternative is landing on my carpet. So we go on a walk. Onboarding, on a high level, is actually "retention negotiation." Or in this context, taking your customers/users… on a walk. The window is usually the first 7-days, although those who miss day 1 tend not to progress. Now let's ask the real question here. What do you want to see on those 7 days? Day 1 → Can they import their data while reaching an aha moment, and do that without rage-quitting? Old yeller calls it, the firehose moment. 🐕‍🦺 Day 3 → Do they see their first “holy shit this works” moment? At this point, Lassie "Wow," should I come home? 🏡 Day 7 → Can they explain your product to their team? And B-i-n-g-o was his name... o. 🐶 Miss any of these is embarrassing, like forgetting to take that little plastic poo bag. My neighbor didn't like that.

I watched @marclou video about DataFast going to $20k MRR. I used to think he always knows the right path. But no, it's not like that. He is just trying things, making mistakes, fixing later. Some features were built and then removed. Some decisions cost money. A lot of it is just experiments, not perfect plan. It feels more normal than I expected. Even at that level, there is doubt. Some days feel like quitting. Some days you don't trust what you are building. But he still continues. That was the main thing I took from this: nobody is really sure, even the successful builders. Simple lesson: KEEP SHIPPING 🚀

@dannytommyX That's true, I'd also add, that the ability to distinct between signal and noise, also makes you not focused in most conversations that are not about your startup. I sat with founders that talking to/with them was like talking to a wall. They were running in loops internally.
