@elonmusk @WallStreetMav It’s doesn’t matter what percentage. There are real people with families who would be required to work without pay. What is the plan for them?

@WallStreetMav What percentage of the government is even working a week before Christmas anyway? My guess is very low.

Wow. If you are to watch one video this morning, watch this. Pete Buttigieg perfectly explains why Billionaires in Silicon Valley now support Trump and why J.D. Vance has flip flopped to liking Trump.

This is rad. Imagine creating a story world that can constantly adapt to your actions even if you hadn’t pre-programmed that scenario.
gfodor.id@gfodor

A bunch of new people followed me so I thought I'd share my favorite GPT-4 prompt - this prompt will let you generate a MUD of literally any virtual world you imagine. It worked great with GPT-3.5 and became insanely good with GPT-4: I want you to act like you are simulating a Multi-User Dungeon (MUD). Subsequent commands should be interpreted as being sent to the MUD. The MUD should allow me to navigate the world, interact with the world, observe the world, and interact with both NPCs and (simulated) player characters. I should be able to pick up objects, use objects, carry an inventory, and also say arbitrary things to any other players. You should simulate the occasional player character coming through, as though this was a person connected online. There should be a goal and a purpose to the MUD. The storyline of the MUD should be affected by my actions but can also progress on its own in between commands. I can also type “.” if I just want the simulated MUD to progress further without without any actions. The MUD should offer a list of commands that can be viewed via ‘help’. Before we begin, please just acknowledge you understand the request and then I will send one more message describing the environment for the MUD (the context, plot, character I am playing, etc.) After that, please respond by simulating the spawn-in event in the MUD for the player.

@DeanPreston Can you also set a minimum bar for “fast” because the federal definition of broadband is only 25 down 3 up. In a city that is supposedly the cradle of innovation it should be at least 100/25 Also in western addition it’s impossible to get gigabit

Come to think of it, all of my Twitter feed is this sort of nonsense. ChatGPT prompts and “this guy built a $1B business from his garage” threads.

If you’re still tweeting threads of ChatGPT prompts that’ll change your life, you’ve earned yourself and immediate unfollow. You sound like MLM hawkers.

@ercwl @kittenmittoncr1 So the object is for people on Twitter to think you can predict things, and your tactic is to fire off a bunch of too-soon-to-call predictions in hope you make one you can quote tweet?

@kittenmittoncr1 that’s how twitter works though. if i try to make the argument when it’s 90 days old instead, the only response i’ll get is ”uhhh ok captain obvious”. there is a time to write this tweet and that time is now.

WHY IT'S DIFFERENT THIS TIME During the Covid crisis, did bitcoin have its moment? Not really, it nuked harder than anything instead of acting as a safe haven—and then traded like a junk risk stock on steroids, mooning at the same time as dogecoin and monkey jpegs. During the Russia-Ukraine invasion, did bitcoin have its moment? Not really, interest rates shot through the roof and bitcoin once again traded like a junk risk asset, dropping 65% over the year. This is the only time over the past few years where we've had a clean price <> narrative coalition. The market signal is clear and undeniable, with bitcoin decoupling from all other assets, even outperforming its own riskier crypto counterparts. Bitcoin is—seemingly for the first time—working as safe haven asset in response to the traditional banking system and in response to a globally unreliable & jerky central bank monetary policy.

@chrsdcook @DonaldFR No one in any city says everybody should be able to move there. SF does need plenty of additional housing — affordable and otherwise.

@DonaldFR It's an absolute contradiction. They say everybody should be able to move here so build endless market rate housing, then they say not everybody can live here, don't come if you don't have enough money. Completely hypocritical.

Amazingly, #SanFrancisco "moderates" simultaneously rage that lefties are preventing people from moving here by demanding 100% affordable housing--yet when it's poor and homeless folk they insist, "hey, not everyone can live in SF." I've heard this total hypocrisy many times.

@debracleaver @ShailviW No argument with that. Should have seen it coming. But the people who deposit money in a bank shouldn’t have to do a financial security audit on it. And in this case there are actually enough assets to back those deposits. Sins of the father and all that.

@debracleaver @ShailviW Hi! That’s true, but different. The bank has enough assets to pay depositors back in full. Just not in cash, right now. Better to give people access to all deposits while they liquidate the assets, which is what they did.

@debracleaver @ShailviW That’s how insurance works. The insured pay into a fund to pay the claims of others. In this case the insured are other banks that would expect the same backstop if they needed it.

Great times at today’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade! Thanks to all those who came out to brave today’s wet weather. Huge thanks to those who made this event possible, always a good opportunity to meet city residents and visitors.
