Such a treat and honor to meet Bill Gates. What he has done for 🌍 is truly incredible. We are lucky to benefit from his incredible intellect and talent.

Modern version of the mailroom start. And it still works!!! Shocked to see how many people just choose not to hustle anymore. I am still doing it every single day. Hustle wins!

@Viquilibrium I had a thought for a very similar form factor a few years ago, though more discreet and without a camera. It's a great idea, glad someone has been working on it. I also had a great logo concept - two fingers like a heart silhouette as this is how the user would press to activate

This is an interesting approach to a fundamentally new kind of product design. I'm personally not sure it would be convenient to use in the street, in the subway where it's loud etc. Feels like in nyc subway it will be instantly stolen:) Who is planning to order?

Q: Why are startup ideas worthless? In his essay Ideas for Startups, Paul Graham wrote: “startup ideas are not million dollar ideas, and here's an experiment you can try to prove it: just try to sell one. Nothing evolves faster than markets. The fact that there's no market for startup ideas suggests there's no demand. Which means, in the narrow sense of the word, that startup ideas are worthless.” Steve Jobs expands on this idea further: “There’s a tremendous amount of craftsmanship in between a great idea and a great product” A lot of people think that a really great idea is 90% of the work, but a great product idea will never turn out as originally conceived. You learn a lot from the details of building it and there are always tradeoffs you have to make. In this clip, Jobs tells the story of how a widowed man showed him a rock tumbler when he was little kid. He uses the rock tumbler and process of turning common stones into beautifully polished rocks as a metaphor for a team working really hard on something they're passionate about: "It's through the team--through a group of incredibly talented people--bumping up against each other, having arguments, having fights sometimes, making some noise, and working together... they polish each other and polish the ideas. And what comes out are these really beautiful stones." The key to building a great product is a great team, not a great idea.

@rsg And I'd generally agree with your advice, certainly today. But I also wouldn't assume we *all* look at these as investments, and "NFTs" will never grow this way. But would she want to own a digital show poster or video from her favorite performing artist after a show? Probably.

@mpastko Right. I'd have been more precise to say she asked me how to "speculate" in NFTs But I'm sure she used the word "invest", as we all do

My wakeup moment with the NFT bubble was a conversation I had with my sister She asked about potentially investing in NFTs After thinking for awhile I said she probably shouldn't Unless you were in the right group chat, or a VC, or a celebrity, or connected: you had zero chance An insiders' game masquerading as the most thinly-veiled art patronage scheme I've ever seen From painting the tape, mint coordination, wash trading, flipper groups: the net effect of all of it was transferring money from outsiders to insiders If you dared to call this nonsense out, you'd have been crucified too. "Don't you support artists?!?"

Yes, @cocokee smart, patient, extremely savvy builders like @mpastko Co-founder of @satoshiscloset_ a #Web3 commerce through #NFTs should continue to build and the #blockchain #Web3 #DeFi #crypto community should listen and follow their work.
Coco Kee@CocoKee

Builders continue to build, regardless of all the noise in the market. Nothing is more calming and encouraging than sitting down and learning from founders, about their vision, ideas, progress, and of course, challenges while building their young companies. A big shout-out to @mpastko, Co-founder @satoshiscloset_, a "Square" type of solution provider for Web3 commerce through NFTs. Glad to see New York City has a beautiful place downtown for Web3 founders @Station3NYC
