@MatrixMysteries Why are so many of these SNAP protests brought forward by morbidly obese women? Not fat shaming but. Really ... whichever activist funding organization is paying them might consider optics.

@MasterMaliq So what's up with the satanic verses? I understand satan tricked him, but that shouldn't be possible when you have a direct line to god

My greatest FLEX as a Muslim? I don’t need ANY middleman to connect with Allah. I don’t pray in the name of Muhammad or any dead human. My God doesn’t require an intermediary. He’s closer to me than my jugular vein. Any “god” that needs a human broker to reach you? Sorry, that’s not God. That’s just another idol with extra steps.

@StatisticUrban You have to account for the fact that he is building up equity in the house while she is not. $1K a month is extremely reasonable though. Merely splitting the utilities is like saying, "I will go Dutch on the air conditioning, but you will provide me shelter."

@spinfisher @patternote No where in the constitution does it say the governments job to help us. Defense is about the only power the constitution gives the government.

If the US eliminated defense spending except for basic defense, the US would pay off its 31 trillion dollars debt in the time of a typical home mortgage.

I'm also pro worker, but feeding you unrealistic fantasies doesn't make workers better off. I'm a worker myself. Bernie is envious and uses you to carry his agenda. you just want a decent paycheck. The best way to get that is by making yourself indispensable or at least very useful. I worked for $15/h for a decade Before i accumulated enough skill to make more. Opportunities are plentiful if you bring value (defined as what others are willing to pay for)

@patternote @TruthHurtsDemz @em_Lazzy Bernie isnt the source of pro worker sentiment. Hes just left of a regular dem. And "envy" is poor theory of mind when it comes to contending with the contradictions of capital.

Labor is only 1 input to value. For starters, if you worked for yourself, you would have to find your own clients and you wouldn't be guaranteed full time pay. Also the entity that organizes labor can profit from the surplus the organization of labor creates. If you have 2 employees A and B, their combined output is not just A + B, but also proportional to A*B, and the person who brought A and B together profits from A*B, while A and B get paid for their inherent values of A and B. A doctor doesn't work 10x harder than a Warehouse worker, yet makes 10x as much. Because skill matters, not just how hard you work. If you bring capital, infrastructure, a business strategy, the employee can't say they produced all the value. They wouldn't even have a job without what the employer brings to the table. Now you may have an argument if they underpay, but many large corporations pay very generously, and 10s of millions of Americans are invested in them. If poor people got to keep their whole paycheck, they would be able to invest in those corps too.

@patternote @TruthHurtsDemz @em_Lazzy Workers bring product and service into fruition through labor. Thats how value is generated. Jobs companies and profits exist without parasitic leeches profiting off of the labor mass without doing proportionate work. Unless you believe they do enough labor to make millions a day

Under no circumstances can women’s body autonomy be up for debate. This decision was purely political, and not rooted in any science or support for women’s reproductive health. The Democratic Party must use every lever of power at our disposal to protect women and provide resources for those seeking access to abortions.

An American takes out a $28,000 student loan. After 16 years and $38,000 paid, her balance is $58,000. $68,000 is PURE interest. She'll pay nearly $100,000 for a $28,000 education. This isn't "education financing" — it's usury.

@SenWarren All they did was block it from being sent across state lines via telemedicine, as it's illegal in some states. There is no right to abortion, just like there is no right for men to abandon their children on a oopsie

What do you think those contacts are? Charity? He provides satellites for the US military, ofc they are big contracts. Employees are not the only ones who generate value, and i say that as an employee. Labor gets paid to do tasks, they don't get to claim all the downstream value after getting paid generous salaries. No profit, no companies, no jobs.

@patternote @TruthHurtsDemz @em_Lazzy No. He gets money mostly from gov taxpayer funded contracts. The biggest welfare receptient in the country. Secondly his employees generate the products and labor that generate any profit. Throwing money at things isnt "proving useful services". Dig deeper. Labor does that.
