people in PST hadn’t woken up yet, people in EST had meetings scheduled at 9 where they wouldn’t have people come barge in, people in other countries would have similar odd times.. it’s just statistically impossible that everyone saw it all at once. What about people in rural America that didn’t have great cell signal yet? This was 2001. It’s absurd to say everyone saw it live.

99.9% of people who "experienced" the Challenger disaster saw it on replay and now remember it as live. Almost NO ONE was watching. Everyone thinks they were. It's a fascinating collective false memory.

Anyone who experienced the Space Shuttle Challenger explosion, like I did, is probably a bit hesitant to get too excited about the Artemis II launch today. I truly hope our children don’t have to experience such tragedy. May the Universe welcome them and return them safely home 🙏

No. I’m saying not everyone saw it live. Not everyone happened to be watching tv at that time and cell phones were much less of a thing plus there was a lot of unsurity about if it was an accident or not before the second plane hit. If you just so happened to be watching TV or were alerted to turn on your TV within the dozens of minutes between strikes, then congrats to you.

The job of SCOTUS is not to subjectively determine whether a law is stupid. Their job is to interpret the Constitution and rule on whether a law violates it. If MAGA wants to end birthright citizenship, they should pursue a constitutional amendment. If you don’t like the separation of powers our Constitution outlines, then leave the country. Your ignorance is anti-American and incompatible with the principles this country was founded on.

Birthright citizenship is stupid. My son was born in a foreign country. Do you think they gave him citizenship? Of course not. That country isn't dumb like we are. Birthright citizenship has got to be put to an end by SCOTUS.

Here they go again. Folks, the 14th Amendment covers birthright citizenship. “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.” That’s it. There isn’t any more. There’s no grey area. There’s no confusion. Whatever bullshit explanation a MAGA gives you that doesn’t end up proving that the above statement is actually fake, is just made up nonsense. If you are born in America, you are an American citizen. Period.

@TBestig @baleygr728528 @VerumVulnero1 There are transcripts of their discussions when it passed. It was not for foreigner (there words, not mine). We had open borders but it was controlled by ship. We knew who was coming in and the naturalization process started at port of entry so everyone was legal.

People crossing over without explicit permission and having babies was not only foreseeable, it was expected. Our modern restrictionist regime would be unrecognizable to them

If you really hate birthright citizenship, propose a new amendment to clarify that the 14th amendment applies only to the children of mothers here legally with the intention of long-term residence. I don’t know if that passes, but it absolutely has very real support.

The issue isn't who is a citizen. The issue is whether the President can override the Constitution. And, no he cannot. If you want to change the Constitution, there's a way to do that. And, these assholes know they don't have the support to do it.

@Tyarchak @TheSWPrincess Of course it was done legally. It's not that cut and dried. Your assuming that my friend, now in her 50s and both parents deceased, would have access to her file. I was adopted in AZ in 1965. My file is permanently sealed by AZ court. I have zero legal access to my own records.

@greendragonhq The only TRUE CLASSIFICATION of a nativeAMERICAN is people born in America to 1 American Citizen. I'd assume were both in line with basic definitions before we dive into definitions of CITIZEN; which is a LEGALLY ACKNOWLEDGED status for EVERYONE who was born here + naturalised.
