The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is exploring the possibility of adding a themed hotel, with some concepts including rooms that could offer views into animal exhibits. The idea is still in an early, exploratory phase as the Metroparks looks for proposals to determine if a project like this is viable. If developed, the hotel could help generate revenue for the zoo while creating a unique overnight experience for visitors. Early studies looked at a hotel with around 135 rooms. The photos included are examples of zoo hotels that already exist, showing what similar experiences can look like. Exact designs or plans for Cleveland have not been released. Would you stay here if it came to Cleveland? (THREAD) Source: @signalcleveland | Story by Mark Naymik Photo: San Antonio Zoo – Spekboom Giraffe Lodge Photo: JamalaWildlife Lodge

We’re continuing to upgrade the parking experience across Cleveland, including the introduction of dynamic rates in Downtown Areas. When demand is lower, drivers can now park beyond the standard 4-hour limit at base hourly rates ($1.50/hr) for each additional hour.

@WasselChase @marcusleshock Oh they won't. I just think Six Flags isn't running it the way Cedar Fair did. Less attention to the small stuff.

@pcfors @marcusleshock But Cedar Point is one of the Crown Jewels in the chain. Why sell something that makes a good portion of the revenue.

BREAKING: Six Flags is selling SEVEN of its theme parks for $331 million. The parks being sold are: Valleyfair (Minneapolis, Minn.) Worlds of Fun (Kansas City, Mo.) Michigan's Adventure (Grand Rapids, Mich.) Schlitterbahn Waterpark Galveston (Galveston, Texas) Six Flags St. Louis (St. Louis, Mo.) Six Flags Great Escape (Queensbury, N.Y.) Six Flags La Ronde (Montreal, QC) The parks are being sold to an entity called EPR Properties, to be run by the Enchanted Parks company. @SixFlags says the money from the sale will be used to pay down debt. New company CEO John Reilly said in a statement: "Consistent with our strategy, this divestiture enables us to concentrate our capital, leadership and operational focus on the properties that we believe generate the strongest returns and offer the greatest long-term upside. Since joining the Company, I have been clear that Six Flags' earnings power has been under-realized. This transaction will simplify our portfolio, strengthen our balance sheet and position us to execute with greater clarity and discipline. By focusing our resources on the parks that we believe have the highest growth potential, we expect to drive operating leverage, expand margins and accelerate our cash flow generation." What does this mean if you bought a season pass that has privileges to all Six Flags parks nationwide? Here is what the company is saying: "The parks will continue their regular operating schedules, and all season passes sold will be recognized through the 2026 operating season, including multi-park pass privileges at other parks within the Six Flags' portfolio." I will have more updates on how this will impacts these parks as more news comes in. What do you think about the changes?

We’ve entered a tough stage of Dad’s life. 90 years of age and his mind and body are starting to struggle mightily. The second graders at our school made this for my Pa and I just can’t thank the Lord enough for it. Please pray for my dad, Gordon. Please pray for Jesus to give me the strength to be faithful to my mission as a son and a priest. Jesus bless all of you. Lets be really good to each other.

As an update to my earlier post. - The ICPS helium bottles are used to purge the engines, as well as for LH2 and LOX tank pressurization. The systems did work correctly during WDR1 and WDR2. - Last evening, the team was unable to get helium flow through the vehicle. This occurred during a routine operation to repressurize the system. - We observed a similar failure signature on Artemis I. - The Artemis II vehicle is in a safe configuration, using ground ECS purge for the engines versus the onboard helium supply. - Potential faults could include the final filter between the ground and flight vehicle, located on the umbilical, though this seems least likely based on the failure signature. It could also be a failed QD umbilical interface, where similar issues have been observed. It could also be a failed check valve onboard the vehicle, which would be consistent with Artemis I, though corrective actions were taken to minimize reoccurrence on Artemis II. Regardless of the potential fault, accessing and remediating any of these issues can only be performed in the VAB. As mentioned previously, we will begin preparations for rollback, and this will take the March launch window out of consideration. I understand people are disappointed by this development. That disappointment is felt most by the team at NASA, who have been working tirelessly to prepare for this great endeavor. During the 1960s, when NASA achieved what most thought was impossible, and what has never been repeated since, there were many setbacks. One historic example is that Neil Armstrong spent less than 11 hours in space on Gemini 8 before his mission ended prematurely due to a technical issue. A little over three years later, he became the first man to walk on the Moon. There are many differences between the 1960s and today, and expectations should rightfully be high after the time and expense invested in this program. I will say again, the President created Artemis as a program that will far surpass what America achieved during Apollo. We will return in the years ahead, we will build a Moon base, and undertake what should be continuous missions to and from the lunar environment. Where we begin with this architecture and flight rate is not where it will end. Please expect a more extensive briefing later this week as we outline the path forward, not just for Artemis II, but for subsequent missions, to ensure NASA meets the President’s vision to return to the Moon and, this time, to stay.
NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman@NASAAdmin

After overnight data showed an interruption in helium flow in the SLS interim cryogenic propulsion stage, teams are troubleshooting and preparing for a likely rollback of Artemis II to the VAB at @NASAKennedy. This will almost assuredly impact the March launch window. @NASA will continue to provide updates as they become available.
