Introducing our new members of the NFRSA family, 🐾RPD Max is a 4-year-old German Shepherd who served with Devon & Cornwall Police for just over 2 years. @DevonPoliceDogs @CornwallDogs Max was trained as a puppy before he went off to the big world with his handler. When he retired, he went back to his owner, Ben, who shares Max’s story: “Max successfully passed at his parade where we were all watching him do his tricks and training in front of Lady Bathurst. He went off with his handler and caught many baddies! Max’s handler told us Max was struggling to track on concrete, so he needed to be retired early at just 3 years old. He asked if we wanted Max back, to which we immediately said yes! And he’s been our perfect family dog ever since.” 🐾RPD Jack is an 8-year-old Sprocker who served for 6 years with HMPPS. @DogsHmpps This hard-working pup is now living his life in retirement with his handler, turned Dad, Jonathon, who gives us a look into Jack’s life: “Jack was destined to be a Firearms and Explosives detection dog. During his service, he performed both routine and intel-led searches, both within prisons and court services. He is missed in work each day, although he is certainly enjoying putting all 4 paws up at home, now he is retired.” Thank you to these retirees, welcome to the NFRSA family! You kept us safe during your service, now it is our time to return the favour. 💜🐾

Mum and I would like to thank the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service @fire_scot to rescue me from the river/embankment that I was unable to free myself from. Thank you for attending after being alerted by a member of public calling 999 ❤️❤️

One week ago today - RPD Rocky from @northantsdogs and @NorthantsPolice was fighting for his life when he suffered a stomach torsion. Vets Now worked into the small hours to save this amazing hero - and one week on, under the care of Mawsley Vets he is recovering like the champ he is. His handler and now Dad Charlie said: “It’s every handlers worst nightmare watching a partner suffer with a life-threatening condition. You feel helpless. But he was there for me for nearly five years and I wasn’t going to let him down. I’m so grateful to the amazing vets for saving his life.” “The support from the NFRSA was incredible, they were there every step the way and have been every day since. Thank you to those who donate to this fantastic charity, who have the backs of our beloved retired dogs - you have no idea what it means to every handler, knowing we have you all at our side.’ Thanks to you, we helped cover Rocky’s vets bill with a gift of £3,750 - and we will continue to be there if he needs us again. As our Global Ambassador @P_Wicks01 says: “These heroic animals have given us so much - it’s important we give them the safe retirement they deserve.” We couldn’t agree more - and it’s precisely what we do at the NFRSA. We’ve got you Rocky. X

In the early hours of this morning a member of the public reported a vehicle being driven dangerously by a driver who was drunk. It was pursued by officers in Northampton & then the driver chose to run off. He was tracked & found by PD Bryn & arrested. He also had a knife on him!
