
I'm inclined to say that IF you paid attention during the era of the old 'Twitter', perhaps toyed around a bit with the boundaries of acceptable speech and such back then (and were permanently deplatformed and never reinstated), and toyed around with current day "X", the ultimate effect is almost identical: You only get reach when the algos can figure which echo chamber to place you in. That a few subculture-like niches aren't outright banned is essentially meaningless in the big picture; it just makes for better propagandizing. EVERYTHING remains on track. Almost everyone's followers and engagement are fake.
