Paul enough with the Sony glaze. This isn’t an XBOX issue. If the roles were reversed and Sony required the two accounts to be linked it would be completely free on XBOX. The reason you have to pay additional sub is because of Sonys third party linking policy. They hid third party linking as a premium online feature behind a paid subscription wall. XBOX and PC view this feature as basic free internet access. This is on Sonys policy.

I think one thing that's frustrating about the Destiny community jumping on the hate-wagon for Marathon - I don't think they realize they're being coopted by a movement of people who DO NOT share their views. The people who started this protest of "Marathon" are people who actually hate Bungie, and they want to watch it burn (for whatever reason). So now the Destiny guys are like, "Screw Marathon... this game SUCKS! WHY NO DESTINY?" Because you're being used by people to destroy the company who made the game you play. You don't share commonality with them at all.. It's like queers for Palestine. You know where this road leads, right? They think that by protesting Marathon, they'll entice Bungie into making another Destiny - when reality couldn't be FURTHER from the truth. If you hurt Bungie's bottom line, they can't make new games. It's like how you see politicians flying around on private jets, lecturing you about your carbon footprint - when one of their flights has a bigger carbon footprint than a person will, all year (I actually looked this up)... They mascaraed as the solution, while making the problem worse. Imagine if Capcom was like, "Hey, I know ya'll really like Resident Evil..... but we're making a Street Fighter game this year..." and the entire community erupted into a mass protest of Street Fighter, putting Capom potentially at risk of bankruptcy... That's how dumb these gamer protests are.

I never said that, and I'm gonna mute you. What I said was, Bungie has had problems dating back to when they were still working on Destiny. Marathon, although a part of those problems - was not the sole reason they're in the predicament they're in. This has been forward from literally anyone who has any inside scoop connected with people in Bungie. This is a KNOWN thing about Bungie. Most of the negative press surrounding Marathon, generally circles back around to people who simply hate Bungie. I also didn't say Destiny is what caused the mismanagement, I implied the mismanagement started in that era (as forwarded from Paul Tassi - the guy literally breaking the entire story). So you're just like, making things up, swearing at me, taking things out of context, and being obnoxious. Mute.

@thelonlykid @thedestinyshow Sit down because this might come as a shock, but, Bungie 'Higher ups' are... Still a part of Bungie. Also, TF you on about with Activision? They retained no rights to literally any destiny content after Bungie split from them. The DCV was a Bungie decision AFTER they split

@thedestinyshow It’s more so that the higher ups and Activision who owns the first year - forsaken which is the actual reason why we won’t get that story back because they took that story as there contract severance when bungee parted ways with them

If Bungie had invested more resources into Destiny, the game would be bigger. If Bungie had prioritized overdelivery, more players would have returned. If Bungie had preserved its campaigns instead of vaulting content, the story would be better. If Bungie had supported PvP with more maps, Crucible would be thriving. If Bungie leadership had prioritized the franchise’s long-term future, Destiny 3 would already be in development. If Sony leadership had made smarter decisions, we wouldn’t be facing what is Destiny’s final live service chapter. Destiny deserved more. The fans deserved more. The developers deserved more. But I’m not leaving. I’ll keep playing. I’ll keep fighting for this franchise. I’ll keep advocating for Destiny’s future. I will stay loud. I will stay committed. Guardians make their own fate. #WeWantDestiny3

Again, I'm gonna put this out there - I don't care if any of ya'll have or don't have a blue check mark, but if you wanna go around insulting people and starting arguments with people - you are literally the worst part of about using this app, because you can't fit what you're trying to say in one post... So the people you're attacking have to deal with repeated notifications from the same dude, being insanely rude, because they have to make multiple comments to get their point across, because they can't afford paragraphs... It's just the worst.

lol You're talking about me saying stupid stuff - a lot of what I said was derived directly from Paul Tassi - the guy who is breaking the entire story. And some dude who can't fork over $8 a month to share some opinions wants to let me know MY opinions are all wrong (even though lots of them are derived from data)..

But dont dodge the question, answer it. Is Destiny alive? Did it take over Petes brain? Did it tell him what to do? What choices to make?

@betty_egg @Imravnos They had one profitable project, and leadership bleed resources away from it to inflate the companie value in order to get a better aquisition deal. That isnt Destinys problem. That isnt 'Destiny community killing Marathon". Thats excecutives fucking an entire studio of a payout

@betty_egg @Imravnos What do we have? Objective proof that Marathon is a complete financial failure. Proof that poor leadership diverting resources away from their only profitable project to incubation projects, Marathon included, killed that flagship title and has guaranteed the studio will close

@betty_egg @Imravnos The fact you continue to assert that Marathons success was even 'average' when the game is 2 seasons in and hasnt yet recouped 1/3rd of its budget, launch sales included, and it has no defined monetization scheme to recoup any more of that budget... But nah, thats Destinys fault

Like if you actually READ everything I said - none of what I said was wrong. You can look a LOT of this up and it's derived from actual data. It's not just, "Steam Charts bruh, Steam charts..." At no point did I suggest Marathon was a run away success, but yes, in contrast with other AAA games its performance is closer to average than what retards who post steam charts all day, would care to admit. I guess you can't read, and you can't look at data - you just stroll around insulting people over video games. Like a true genius. No data, nothing.

@betty_egg @Imravnos If you say stupid shit, dont be suprised when people call you stupid. But let me get this straight. Bad leadership at Bungie... was created by Destiny. Is the game alive? Was it whispering in Petes ear? Did it tell him to spin up 13 incubation projects and bankrupt the studio?

Why are you guys always so hostile? It doesn't make you look smart at all. You never make any good points, and you always take things out of context to try and insult people. A TON of Bungie's problems stem from mismanagement stemming back from Destiny. I've been watching all the Paul Tassi reports on all of this.. The people in this community who show up to randomly be hostile and inflammatory for no reason never bring anything to the table. It would be one thing if you guys could have civil conversations about this video game, but you can't, so you're immediately disqualified as serious 'intellectuals' - you're the grievance party of gamers. Brain dead.

@redillux Oh wow, look at that? And.... it's dead. Again, I'm not the one posting the Marathon Steam Charts like I deserve some kind of prize - but when you look at what people have been doing with Steam charts with proper context you REALIZE just retarded it is.

There is no way you think Saying, "Yea I guess this is cool BUT THIS THING IS WAY COOLER." is a fucking promotion for ANYTHING. In every context its a very obviously backhanded and shitty thing to say. Also no one is saying he's taking a shot at the game. They're saying its disrespectful and tasteless. And it is. Calling people morons because they know the difference just makes you look like a mindless shithead.

@betty_egg @Imravnos "Slightly underwhelmeing performance" It hasnt even made back 1/3rd of its budget 2 seasons in "Bungie problems stem from destiny" With the litany of reporting out there detailing every issue Bungie has, you have to be mentally definicent to think that problem was Destiny

At the end of the day, regardless of whether or not Marathon performs as well as most AAA studios - 'average' isn't good enough for a studio like Bungie, and obviously not good enough for Sony (considering what they paid for Bungie, and with the impairment losses, etc). That's the problem! Marathon's just another game on the board! Albeit, a slightly underwhelming performance, still not the completely hopeless black hole people who push these Steam chart narratives are trying to convince people of. A lot of the problems with Bungie stem from Destiny! In fact, most of them (I'm fairly certain). Obviously Marathon didn't help, and who knows if they'll still be making content for it in a year. They need a miracle, BUT, AS MY ORIGINAL POST SUGGESTS: If you WANT a Destiny 3, protesting Marathon is the dumbest way to go about it.

@betty_egg And literally all of those games sold FAR more copies than Marathon, sold for for full AAA price, unlike Marathon which sold for half, AND theyre not live service games with continual upkeep costs. With 400 devs, Marathon costs a MINIMUM $7.2 million a month to keep online.

007 First Light cost around 200 million. It debuted on Steam with around 70k players. Last night it was running with around 7k players, and it's only been out for a month. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth cost 120 million to make. It debuted with around 40k players. Marathon cost 250 million It debuted with 88k players. So basically, if you spend twice as much, you'll get twice as much. The studios with much smaller budgets who do WAY better, like Pearl Abyss and Crimson Desert - those are ANOMALIES. We're talking the top .001% of success in gaming! That's not what happens with MOST AAA games.

@betty_egg Marathon, by almost every metric, has been a bomb. Low total sales, low player retention, low console engagment, low seasonal revenue, high budget, high marketing budget. Literally the ONLY good thing from its launch was steam reviews, which mean jack shit if nobodies playing

@betty_egg "Marathon did about as good as most AAA games with similar budgets do." Are you absolutely fucking insane? Its budget was %250 million. It didnt even crack 100k players. It sold for almost half the price of other AAA games. Its total sales recouped less than 1/3rd of its budget.
