I actually don’t think the INR 30,000 Andhra is introducing will make much dent, it is far too small. It may have signaling value though. It shows that large families are no longer shameful. Some people who anyway wanted large families may now go ahead.

Your argument was for people having more kids. When a woman pointed out how expensive education and healthcare is, you pointed out that free education & healthcare exist. If the quality of either isn’t upto the mark, why make the statement at all? You cannot talk about policy in a vacuum. It needs to take in ground realities which yours don’t. I get defiling dead bodies being illegal. But I am too atheistic to even understand this point. Once I'm dead I think it is all over for me. It does not matter what happens afterwards. It's not that thousands of people will stop donating overnight. The concern is that public trust in body donation programs can be harmed when future donors or their families see donated cadavers being mocked instead of treated with dignity. Unki bhi family hoti hai. In a country where many families are already hesitant about body donation because of religious and cultural beliefs around the last rites, imagine donating your loved one's body for medical education and then seeing it become the subject of jokes. We are taught that cadavers are our first teachers. The least they deserve is respect
