Case Today: A young man got married recently. Arranged marriage set up by parents. Not much communication between the couple before marriage. From whatever few conversations happened, he was already sceptical of her nature & conveyed the same to his parents. But they rejected his apprehensions and went ahead with the marriage. There was no dowry taken in marriage and the guy says he has proofs of the same. Shortly after marriage his father had to undergo an emergency surgery for which they ended up spending huge money. His savings are gone. Now his wife is constantly blaming him for not planning a lavish honeymoon, not gifting her gold that she expected she will get and has already gone back home. He and his family have been blocked. He is now fearing criminal cases on him. Now who is wrong and who is right in this case? Such extensive conversations around dowry but high demands from the girl or her family is also a reality today. When these demands are not met, the man and his entire family is then blamed in dowry and domestic domestic violence cases without iota of evidence.

A 30-year-old guy was looking for matches on Shaadi.com for an arranged marriage. Recently he matched with a 27 year old girl. She works in finance and earns about 36 LPA while the guy earns 40 LPA. She clearly told the guy that she has no connection with her mothers husband. After talking for about 6 months the girl told her mother about the guy. Her mother said, “We’ll decide after meeting him, but if you like him then it’s okay.” When the guy told his parents about the girl they liked the match at first after seeing her photo and education. But as soon as they found out about her family background, they immediately rejected the proposal. They had no other reason to say no to the girl Now the guy is very confused because he has started to really like the girl. What do you think — should the guy marry that girl or not?
