Preparation continues ahead of the R&A Girls and Boys Amateur Championship. Not long to go now, practice starts on Sunday. The course is in great shape after lots fantastic work by the Ganton team 👏.

Another beautiful chilly morning @ GGC with temperatures as low as - 7. While carrying out a course inspection Andy West captured these fantastic shots of the new sand waste area on the 10th hole.

@LouStagner Ganton @GantonGC - 7055 yards off the back, held all major team events (except Solheim) and still a serious amateur comp venue, course infrastructure and location probably the main issue but what a course.

Let's start a thread of all the "obsolete" courses. Would love to get a list of venues that have held a professional event in the past that can no longer hold one. Details as to why it's obsolete are needed as well (e.g., current yardage, historical scoring, etc...). 👇👇
