Just as I was getting ready to finalise and submit steplock to the app store, it decides to break. A few more hours of debugging for me. I do have another project in mind after this but I've promised myself that I must finish Steplock

@KevinFengX just like getting in shape is simple, follow the same steps over and over again (lift heavy, eat well, sleep properly), being exceptional is the same. its not complex but it's hard to do

@1Umairshaikh The seller by a long shot, anyone who can code realised just like myself, that the bottleneck is not how good you can make your product, its how many people you can convince to pay you money for your product.

A founder can code. Another founder can sell. Who has the bigger advantage?

@siddharthwv I have fallen victim to over optimisation myself, to the point where I would become so worried about the fun activity I was doing or spending time with friends because it was "ruining" my routine. I had to learn to live, appreciate and accept that life is inconsistent

I genuinely believe if you're between 21-35 you should stop trying to optimize every second of your life. Focus on: Making $10k - $15k/month. Build an athletic physique. Work that doesn't make you dread Monday mornings. Read classic books. Eat dessert. Don't be socially useless. Watch great movies. Go out. Wake up without an alarm. Optimization sucks the joy out of life.

in my eyes a single million millionaire should probably stick to a toyota corolla because 1 million is just not that much money anymore

if we put as much money into marketing as we do into tokens for vibe coding there would be 10x more millionaire saas founders (and 10x fewer claude api invoices haunting our dreams)

Been building Steplock since December. The thing that stalled it was dumb, waiting on apple permissions but that's how it goes. one small block kills momentum, the loss spirals, and months disappear. the real skill isn't pushing hard. it's not letting the small stuff stop you. finally close now.

@ali_moiz if youre actually competitive and a top student, have internships and side projects then you will 100% be offered a job but if you do none of those then yes, your odds significantly drop. its not a market issue, its a skill issue.

Anecdotally, I'm hearing new CS grads are finding it very hard to land jobs out of college. Even from top-tier universities. Big Tech has all but stopped hiring new CS grads. AI is increasing leverage for senior, experienced developers. Anyone else seeing this?
