
Ontario school board announces that this year's graduation ceremonies will be guided by an “anti-oppressive/anti-racist/anti-colonial lens” Canadians are referred to as “citizens of Turtle Island,” and ceremonies are expected to include the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board's bespoke land acknowledgements. Staff are asked to recognize that “not all learners/guests in attendance may chose to stand” during the national anthem while ensuring what the memo describes as an “equitable celebration” for each student. @HWDSB
