MLS is most likely to be first league to add hydration breaks. MLS has history of embracing change (VAR, ref-cam, ref mics, timed subs, off-field treatment, 35- yard shootout, etc.) Premier League will be last, not b/c they don’t want it, but b/c it’s perceived as American.

I find soccer purists weird. Every sport, as it gets popular, makes adjustments to accommodate television coverage. Yes, the phony cover story of "hydration" is a bit silly, but healthy sports allow television networks to make more money so they can make more money!

Private equity has absolutely no place in sports, and Chelsea under BlueCo is the perfect case study of why. These owners walked in thinking they could apply a flip for profit model to a sport they clearly don't understand. It's created a massive amount of debt, chaos at every level, and a club heading into one of the biggest collapses in sports history.
BlueCo approached football like a business experiment they could redesign at will, ignoring the culture and reality of the sport. Instead, they've created instability, isolated players, and buried the club under a financial structure that only makes sense if you're trying to sell it on for billions. That might work in other industries, but in football it's an absolute disaster. Call me negative I couldn't give a shit, but it's just the reality of what's happening at our football club. It's BlueCoOUT!
