Addressing the Sangat at the Annual Kirtan Darbar at Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib on the urgent need for a Drug Free World and the importance of Empowering our Youth with Skills for Jobs — breaking the vicious cycle where unemployment often leads to depression and vulnerability to substance abuse. At Sun Foundation, we are committed to skilling and placing 10,000 youth annually. Last year alone, over 5,000 youth were successfully placed through certified training programs in courses such as CNC Turning, Electrician, General Duty Assistant, Sewing, Aviation, Hospitality & Tourism and Banking & Finance and such. Simultaneously, through Sun Foundation’s Skilling for Rehabilitation patients - Free skill trainings at Govt. Rehab Centres in computers, cooking, mobile repair and football stitching to rebuild confidence and sustainable livelihoods after recovery. @sunfoundationIn

On my birthday, I was humbled to hand over newly constructed and renovated homes to families affected by the Punjab floods, as we culminate our six-month-long relief and rehabilitation efforts across Chak Aul, Ramdass, Nangal Sohal, Punjgarien, Jattan and Dharamkot Pattan. Deeply touched by the blessings of our farmer brothers and sisters. I remain committed to stand by them and ensure rightful support and compensation. I sincerely hope timely preventive measures are taken by the Government so such calamities are avoided in future. @sunfoundationIn

28 Founder’s Days… and a Journey filled with Hope and New Beginnings. From Angels of Sun for children and Taare Zameen Par for specially abled to INIFT and Surya Kiran for rural empowerment. From our World Class Skill Centres in Delhi, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Pahuwind and Patiala, to Nirmal Chaya for Tihar inmates and Krishna Kutir for elder women and skilling for drug de-addiction and rehabilitation patients in Punjab. Guided by the cause of humanity — through medical aid during COVID, support during calamities like floods, and rescue missions from Afghanistan and Libya, alongside Mission Hope for Oman. Each step carried a dream. Each effort touched a life. Today, as we train 5,000 youth annually, our hearts remain set on a larger purpose — to skill and place 10,000 youth every year. @sunfoundationIn

Sun Foundation is honoured to support Sunnyrudh Singh from Faridkot, invited to California State University for his PhD research dedicated to empowering farmers through innovative learning tools. We are proud to extend support towards his living and related expenses under the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Scholarship, which has so far nurtured 588 such promising talents. Enabling such opportunities is often the vital bridge between exceptional potential and well-deserved global recognition. Young scholars like Sunnyrudh embody the promise of Punjab. We extend our heartfelt best wishes for his academic journey and every success ahead. The Hon’ble Governor of Punjab flagged off the Walk Against Drugs from the Saragarhi Memorial, Ferozepur. Sun Foundation proudly joined the march, with our Awareness Van accompanying the Hon’ble Governor @Gulab_Kataria during the Walk Against Drugs campaigns across Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Fazilka, and Abohar over the past four days as part of the Yudh Nasiyan Virudh movement. Beyond awareness, @sunfoundationIn remains deeply committed to rehabilitation through skill training and livelihood support for recovering individuals, helping transform recovery into reintegration. A drug-free Punjab demands both prevention and opportunity — and we remain dedicated to both.

As #YudhNashiyanVirudh enters Phase 2, the impact of Phase 1 is clear. Our skill programmes at rehabilitation centres are enabling livelihoods — training in mobile repair, electrician, computers, cooking and vegetable cultivation. Rehabilitation backed by livelihoods.

India’s startups and digital platforms across delivery & logistics, ride-hailing, e-commerce, home services, healthcare, construction support and professional freelancing deserve credit for generating millions of jobs driven by innovation. They have indeed saved Demographic Dividend turning into Demographic Disaster While the Social Security Code, 2020 provides for GigWorkers registration on the e-Shram portal, this should be seen as a starting point—not the finish line. Some States already demonstrate that welfare frameworks can coexist with growth. A collaborative national approach—on the lines of the BOCW Act for Construction workers with a dedicated welfare mechanism—can be co-created with founders to strengthen worker security while keeping platforms competitive and future-ready. Committed to Punjab’s #YudhNashiyanVirudh and building on the success of Sun Foundation skill centres in Mohali and Amritsar, Inaugurated the upgraded Drug De-Addiction Model Centre at Shiekhe, Jalandhar. The centre now offers skill training in electrician work, salon services, cooking, football stitching, and digital literacy, enabling seamless reintegration into normalcy and equipping patients with the tools to build livelihoods.
