I welcome and thank Hon'ble PM @NarendraModi Ji and the @mygovindia for taking a historic step towards maximizing the utilization of India's rightful share of Indus basin waters through the Chenab–Beas Link Tunnel and allied projects worth ₹2,620 crore. The proposed 8.7 km tunnel will help divert surplus Chenab waters into the Beas basin, benefiting Punjab. For years, I have consistently advocated the diversion of surplus river waters to Punjab. Our state is facing an acute water crisis, with groundwater levels depleting at an alarming rate due to over-extraction. This initiative of Central Govt offers renewed hope for groundwater recharge, sustainable agriculture, and securing the future of Punjab's farmers. @CRPaatil @DoWRRDGR_MoJS tribuneindia.com/news/top-headl…

You are one of the very few voices from the common walks of life today that genuinely talks and act with compassion for all In a time when most conversations are trapped in the binaries of religion, politics and ideology, it takes rare clarity to rise above divisions and speak at a truly human level.

Honoured to address the 70th Birthday celebrations of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji and the 40th anniversary of the Art of Living Foundation. At a time when the world faces conflict, stress, division and unrest, Gurudev’s message of compassion, coexistence and inner peace feels more relevant than ever. From Kashmir to Ayodhya, his belief in dialogue and humanity continues to inspire millions. As Guru Nanak Dev Ji said — “Sarbat da Bhala” — one could truly feel that spirit of love, positivity and belongingness all around. @Gurudev @ArtofLiving

Attended a highly enriching workshop, “Building Viksit Bharat @2047: Advancing Health and Education Reforms,” organized by the Nation First Policy Research Centre (NFPRC) The insightful discussions on Ayushman Bharat, NEP 2020, strengthening healthcare delivery, improving learning outcomes, and enhancing public engagement through effective policy communication offered valuable perspectives on India’s development journey. Such dialogues between policymakers and legislators are crucial to realizing the vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047. @tarunchughbjp @sambitswaraj @DrCNManjunath @NFPRC_Ind

Addressing the 70th birthday celebrations of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji and the 40th anniversary of the Art of Living Foundation was truly a deeply moving experience. I deeply admire the compassion, calmness and humanity with which Gurudev has won millions of hearts and helped heal deeply sensitive concerns from Kashmir to Ayodhya through dialogue, peace and human connection. At a time when the world is witnessing conflict from West Asia to Russia and Ukraine, humanity needs this very spirit of compassion and coexistence. Gurudev’s teachings inspire us to move from merely existing to truly living — beyond stress, addictions, division and the endless rat race. As Guru Nanak Dev Ji blessed humanity with “Sarbat da Bhala” — welfare of all — one could truly feel an atmosphere of positivity, love and belongingness all around. @Gurudev @ArtofLiving #Gurudev #SriSriRaviShankar #ArtOfLiving #OneWorldFamily

I urge Punjab Government to immediately revive the proposed Post Graduate Institute of Horticulture Research and Education (PGIHRE), Amritsar with Central govt grant of 1700 crores for propagating Crop Diversification in the state. ₹1700 crore project approved by Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR), Government of India to establish a PGI of Horticulture Research and Education in Amritsar in 2022. The project also envisaged the appointment of 206 horticulture scientists and the creation of a world-class centre for horticulture research and education. 30 acres required for the institute were identified at Village Chiddan, and a land acquisition notification was also issued by the Punjab Government on 20 March 2023. However, due to administrative delays and non acquisation of land. the project failed to move forward, leading to the non release of the sanctioned funds by ICAR. #agriculture #horticulture #punjab @icarindia @ChouhanShivraj

Strict action against illegal sand mining across Punjab is needed. It is not just a massive fiscal loss to the state, but a grave threat to Punjab’s ecology, agriculture and future generations. Illegal mining is leading to riverbank erosion, weakening of embankments, depletion of groundwater, destruction of fertile soil and increased flood risks in several areas of Punjab. Punjab was once projected to generate nearly ₹20,000 crore annually from regulated sand mining, yet reported collections remain only a fraction of that figure, raising serious concerns over leakage, illegal operations and loss to the public exchequer. @Gulab_kataria @DGPPunjabPolice

PM Modi’s thoughtful gift of a simple Indian Melody toffee to PM Giorgia Meloni was far more than a sweet gesture—it was a masterclass in soft diplomacy and #VocalForLocal. 🇮🇳🍬 By showcasing an iconic Made-in-India brand on the global stage, he highlighted the power of Indian products, culture and entrepreneurship. The impact is evident—India’s toffee exports have surged by nearly 166% since 2013-14, proving that even small indigenous brands can become global ambassadors of India’s growth story. Proud moment for Brand India! #Melody #Parle #MakeinIndia @narendramodi @GiorgiaMeloni

The original GMADA “Next Generation Roads” project was proposed at a staggering ₹783 crore for just 83.4 km of existing roads in Mohali—over 9 crore per km. Following the intervention of the Hon’ble Punjab & Haryana High Court, the project cost has been reduced to ₹666 crore. Yet, even now, the cost remains nearly ₹8 crore per km, which appears extraordinarily high for upgradation, resurfacing, beautification, operation and maintenance of existing roads. For comparison, Haryana recently approved ₹4,827 crore for upgrading 9,410 km of roads — approximately ₹51 lakh per km. Punjab itself sanctioned ₹4,150 crore for 19,491 km of link roads — about ₹21 lakh per km. Even 5 years longer maintainence does not justify such an exorbitant cost The Punjab Government must immediately place the DPR, cost estimates and concession agreement in the public domain. Such an exorbitant expenditure appears unjustified and demands complete transparency. @tarunchughbjp @suniljakhar @BJP4Punjab @thetribunechd #Gmada tribuneindia.com/news/chandigar…

Heartiest thanks to Hon’ble PM @narendramodi Ji and Hon’ble HM @AmitShah Ji for sanctioning ₹3,284 crore to Punjab under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). This transformative support is enabling the rollout of underground power distribution networks across Punjab. It will modernise Punjab’s power infrastructure through underground power networks, smart metering and grid strengthening, leading to fewer outages, lower transmission losses, improved voltage stability, enhanced public safety and more reliable 24x7 electricity for households, farmers, industries and businesses across the state. @MinOfPower @mlkhattar
