And don't forget the cost of insurance either. A standard model SUV's insurance will cost you about $2,700/yr while a Model Y's insurance will cost on average $3,800/yr. You didn't save $1,000 on fuel. You just transferred the payment from Exxon to your insurance carrier while the car burned $35,000 of equity in your driveway.
