How to be an Ethical Transsexual:
1) Be at least 18 years old and not have a criminal history of violence, sexual assault, etc, etc.
2) See a mental health therapist, or maybe more than one, for many months, maybe even years, if necessary. This is not just an hour visit.
3) Receive a diagnosis of complete gender dysphoria or gender identity disorder. Not just one or two criteria, but ALL of them. With no significant comorbidities.
4) Demonstrate sincerity and potential passibility by living full time socially transitioned and be successfully accepted by others.
5) Take cross-hormones and report satisfaction with both the physical and mental results.
6) Have sex-reassignment surgery of your primary genitals. Full commitment.
7) Change your legal sex on all your government documents.
8) Behave, you’re still a guest. You have no natural rights. You only have been granted legal rights that can change. Don’t abuse the privileges.
There is no such thing as non-binary.
There is no self-id. Gatekeeping with high standards is good for safe-guarding both the patient and society from harm.
There is not currently sufficient evidence for “girl/boy brain” or innate gender identity. But even if there was, I doubt it would ever be enough to claim natural rights. It’s all about the gametes.
While taking cross-hormones does change cellular functions and modify the body and brain structures, it still doesn’t change your sex. And neither does surgery.
However, collectively having “girl/boy brain”, taking cross-hormones, and having surgery all contribute to being a person who can successfully assimilate and be considered for extension of legal rights.
