Even among well-educated, progressive traders, subtle sexism shows up in ways we often don’t even notice.
Calling stocks “she” might seem harmless—but it reflects a deeper habit of objectifying women. Stocks are objects, not people.
And let’s be honest—many trading chats still feel like boys’ locker rooms, making it uncomfortable for women to participate.
If you’re a man reading this, just a small ask: be mindful of language and the culture we create. Even unintentional things can be exclusionary.
A more welcoming space = more women in trading.
I’d love to help move this forward—open to ideas.

100% isn't easy being a woman in such a highly male dominated industry (and world!). I too come from a very patriarchal and sexist culture, where my grandmom wasnt allowed to go to school & my mom wasn't allowed to work. Time to break the generational cycle for our kids 😇💪🙏

Thankfully I came from a background where my GrandMom studied till 8th grade. She could read simple english words. Like old Indian television programs would show "Coming up" prior to the presentation and she used to read that.
Good to see more woman in trading profession. I see @tropicaltrader7 and @TslaGroupie as two powerful options traders on my timeline.

Conversation this week…. Me: Yea, it isn’t the easiest being a female in finance/trading. Them: Yes, but you are helping to change that. Me: 🤯 🤯🤯🤯 (…. Realizing for the first time that I actually am…. And remembering my mom and grandma couldn’t get a bank account without a man present in their lifetime). We got this ladies! My answer will always be yes, anything I can ever do to support you all I am here as long as time permits!

It's not about trading.
