Curtis Elliot Smith reportedly approached a 9-year-old boy outside a Fort Lauderdale beach hotel on December 29, 2025, while the child worked on a colouring book near his mother, touching him sexually on the chest and private areas; after the boy moved, Smith followed and repeated the acts, including grabbing the genitals.
