Important catalysts: Win a LAN or two while NOT losing to low ranked teams. Their direct opponents messing up (losing to low ranked teams) more than themselves in the rest of the qualification is going to be key. So a mix of getting a win streak going themselves, while the competitors make mistakes in the same process. In the coming time we will see teams that ultimatively fails the qualification from losing matches against low ranked teams in the smaller LANs, but they have to play them to get the LAN wins.

PGL Cluj-Napoca Day 1 matches -> Impact on EU Major qualification Vitality, Falcons, MOUZ, PARIVISION, Aurora, Natus Vincere and FaZe are already qualified for the major, but wins today and in the rest of PGL Cluj are important in the race for Stage 3 invites. G2, Astralis and probably also 3DMAX are in a very good position for the major, but not mathematically safe. With a win today they will be, due to wins against the top teams being so valuable. Going 0-3 here in PGL Cluj would put these teams under a lot of pressure, but they would still have several ways to qualify with relative ease. B8 and FUT needs just a few more LAN wins in tier 1 events to secure the major. B8 has invites for all 3 remaining events, while FUT will want to get wins here in PGL Cluj to secure an early major qualification. HEROIC is the EU team at this event who needs wins the most. They have dropped a lot in the ranking due to their LAN wins being very decayed. Wins here in PGL Cluj will be an enormous boost in VRS for HEROIC. They also have the situation about Alkaren though, where they will lose some points once he plays again. Less and less with time though. All of B8, FUT and HEROIC will come on pressure if they go 0-3. HEROIC most of all though. Below a table with the projected March VRS standing before the matches in PGL Cluj. For reference the VRS gain from a round 1 win has been added to the standing: Note: The Major chance assessment is just my personal view based on the current info available and a few simulations of various results. Overall I would say that 14 of 17 EU spots for the major are pretty much taken by now. A few of those teams with the "asterix" that the team can't lose all their remaining matches, but they of course also won't. HEROIC is a question mark, but they have the invites to decide their fate themselves. Same can be said about NIP who has both EPL and BLAST Open invite. The rest of the EU teams doesn't have a single tier 1 invite and even though some teams are a little ahead currently anything can happen as all these teams will have to play LANs outside tier 1 to try to secure a spot.
