Oh please, the American Dream is a myth. Trump is once again putting on the appearance of addressing "affordability." Trump is not solving the housing crisis. In fact, he's explicitly stated that he wants to make it harder for first-time buyers, renters and families entering the housing market because he'd prefer to protect the richest homeowners and investors. Meanwhile, the value of the US dollar has weakened against other currencies, goods and services. Many households are losing purchasing power and incomes are not keeping up. Trump has had no positive impact on mortgage rates, and rates no less that are expected to climb as a result of this latest war. Trump's only contribution has been creating massive economic uncertainty, and uncertainty that causes investors to want SAFETY over RISK in this economy. All of this would be made abundantly clear to his supporters if they left the echochamber for one moment to inform themselves about the harmful consequences of Trump's agenda, including legislation like his Big Ugly Bill, and how most of that harm will be felt by our laborers, low income individuals, the working and middle classes, and of course, families and future generations of Americans. Legislation that is ushering in the greatest redistribution of wealth in a lifetime. Legislation that provides massive tax breaks and incentives to the rich and corporations and doesn't even remotely offset these costs by depriving millions of Americans of their access to healthcare, food assistance and financial opportunities. Trump's policies are exploding the debt and deficit and data shows that his tariffs are a regressive tax on Americans. Worse yet, the facts reveal that Americans are footing over 90% of the cost of Trump's tariffs. Shocker! Under Biden, we saw four straight years of job growth, but just one year into Trump's second presidency and we've seen FIVE MONTHS of job LOSSES. Still don't get it? The government funds that are being "saved" from gutting agencies and programs that directly benefit the American people, are NOT being redirected towards fixing the national debt and deficit. NO, these funds that are being picked from American pockets are being redistributed to the RICH. Trump has also been pressured to reverse some of his tariffs BECAUSE they were raising costs, hurting domestic industries, taxing Americans, causing trade wars, etc.. Polls even show that the majority of voters believe that Trump's tariffs are harmful to the economy. They also disapprove of Trump's handling of the economy in general; an issue he primarily campaigned on! Hell, income inequality has just reached a 60-year peak and reports show that Trump's policies have allowed the top 1% of stockholders and investors to own more wealth and assets than the bottom 99%. Instead of addressing systemic economic issues, Trump is focused on monetizing his presidency to the tune of billions and creating a kleptocracy by concentrating economic power and resources into the hands of the few while the many struggle financially. Trump managed to win the election by lying to the American people about his willingness to address these issues. Instead, his decisions have led to foreign wars that are shocking markets, disrupting global trade, and increasing oil prices. His policies are cutting funding for our social programs, community support structures and safety nets, public health and environmental projects, and the agencies responsible for protecting consumers from predatory financial institutions. His decisions have led to higher costs for Americans, poor consumer confidence, market volatility, trade wars and retaliation, slowed job growth and a slowing economy, bailouts for industries hit hard by Trump's tariffs, among other things, and all while he continues to escalate tensions between the US and its allies, forcing our economic partners to turn to China for trade. This isn't the "golden age" of America, it's the next "GILDED" age.

A $600K home 5 years ago → $2,000/month. Same $600K home today → $4,500/month. Anyone on variable rates? Absolutely crushed. Mortgage payments have more than doubled in under 5 years.
