40 countries with the richest culture and heritage and Sri Lanka isnt on this list? 2500 years of documented history, 8 UNESCO world heritage sites.. but its a survey of 17,000 people across 36 nations so maybe they just didnt ask enough people from our part of the world. This is a sickness... Why are we still giving visas to a country that does this to its own people? There is no Hamas in the west bank and the IDF and settlers are terrorising Palestinians there. The State just passed a law that will execute Palestinian prisoners. That's akin to the Sri Lankan government passing a law to execute tamil prisoners... A law based on ethnicity. It's abhorrent. @anuradisanayake @Dr_HariniA we implore you... Take a stand against this genocidal state. No visas, no labour and no diplomatic ties with Israel until they behave like a nation deserving of the privileges of a nation state that abides by international law. Tilly’s Beach Hotel owned by a Tamil was burned down by Sinhalese mobs during 1983 Anti-Tamil pogrom (Black July). The ruins of the building still stand by Mount Lavinia beach as a memorial to one of the most tragic injustices against Tamils in Sri Lanka.
