In 1986, the American Medical Association published an article titled "The Physical Death of Jesus Christ". It details the entire process of Jesus' trial to His death on the cross. In Luke 22, before Jesus is arrested, it is written that He was in great distress & sweating blood. Although rare, it is recognized as Hematidrosis, a condition caused by high levels of stress. At the time, the crucifixion was considered the worst death for the worst of criminals. But this is not all Jesus faced. He endured whipping so severe that it tore the flesh from His body. He was beaten so horribly that His face was torn & His beard ripped. A crown of thorns, 2-3 inches long cut deeply into His scalp. The leather whip used to flog Him had tiny iron balls & sharp bones. The balls caused internal injuries while the sharp bones ripped open His flesh. His skeletal muscles, veins, & bowels are exposed, causing major blood loss. Most men do not survive this kind of torture. After Jesus was severely flogged, He was forced to carry His cross while people mocked & spat on Him. Crucifixion was a process meant to instill excruciating pain, creating a slow & agonizing death. Nails as long as 8 inches were driven into Jesus' wrists & feet. The Roman soldiers knew the tendons in the wrists would tear & break, forcing Jesus to use His back muscles to support Himself to breathe. Imagine the struggle, the pain, the courage...Jesus endured this reality for 3 hours! The Gospel of John writes that after Jesus' death, a Roman soldier pierced His side with a spear & blood & water came out. Scientists explain that from hypovolemic shock, the rapid heart rate causes fluid to gather in the sack around the lungs & heart. The accumulation of fluid in the membrane around the heart is called a Pericardial effusion & the lungs is called a pleural effusion. To the world, Christianity is as foolish as it can get. They believe it's for the weak. But when you are confronted by the reality of the cross, it's clearly not a pretty sight. It is brutal & horrific. This is the weight Jesus carried. The weight of the sins of the world, all so that we can live. God's wrath is fully satisfied in Jesus. This is what it took. Repent & believe! Jesus is “God among us” in the flesh. Jesus is our Savior. Jesus loves you so much that He went through this spiritual and physical punishment for your sins and mine. Jesus is the LORD, Almighty God, Everlasting Father. The Protestant Reformation was in response to corruption in the Catholic Church and decentralized access to the Bible. It was an inevitability. And it "succeeded." The Catholic Church today bears little resemblance to the Catholic Church at the time. Catholics do their own Bible study in vernacular now; even the mass is done this way. Most Catholics have their own relationship with God and do not launder their salvation through a Priest, even if they do sometimes go to confession (many do not). They basically ignore the Pope and what he says. If you talk to any regular, non-trad Catholic (who are so trad they are actually doing things Rome doesn't do) and ask them what they believe, they would likely speak from personal conscience rather than defer to doctrine. This would have been considered heretical Protestantism by the Church 500 years ago. This is not to disparage Catholicism, which rejuvenated itself in the counter-reformation (competition improves things) and has evolved on many issues while preserving its essential rituals, structure, and tenets of faith. It is also not to endorse the myriad twists and often absurd directions modern protestantism has taken. It's simply to say yes, fundamentally these arguments are irrelevant. 95% of Christians don't know what Arminianism or Semi-Pelagianism is, and even if they fall into one camp or another inadvertently this doctrine is not a motivating factor in their lives. 500 years ago conversely the Church had such authority (excommunication was essentially exile) that this rebellion over the nature of salvation was very real and indeed existential. For thirty years across Europe people bled out over it, wiping out nearly one third of the population - a proportion so high, World War casualties are a joke in comparison. Speaking in 2026 like "we've gotta go back and address this" when none of the conditions or stakes of that time exist anymore is a LARP. And it's especially a LARP when there is a genuine and acute illness within Christianity today of a different nature (the demonization of masculinity and male sexuality) that needs addressing. Those who focus on old fights instead of the one in front of us are attempting to look pious while really acting like cowards. You may say the Church does not need to address these contemporary secular issues because it is "not of this world." But you will have to square this with the fact that the Church behaves very much in this world: both the Vatican and various Protestant denominations have been involved in funding the relocation of migrants en masse. They lobby and attempt to influence politics. And by what they choose to morally address and omit in their sermons or homilies each week, they impact the cultural dialogue. I am not saying this is wrong, simply that it is the reality - and it has always been this way. 800 years ago the Church and the Holy Roman Emperor were at war with each other. 40 years ago Pope John Paul II was using his position to undermine the communist regime in Poland. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose. The Church has always been a political entity that engages in the world because a) power is persuasive and expands influence and b) if it cannot meet people where they are in their lives it is useless to them. In the end, the proof of the Church's spiritual arguments lies not in the abstract but in its practical use to people - whether the fruits of what it advocates are good and bad. So it should be unsurprising that whenever the fruits are bad, as they are now, the flock speaks up and demands reform. Churches that create men and women who are unable to pair bond and procreate are Churches that are failing. Churches that shame men for resisting the mass migration of hostile elements into their societies are cancers. Saying "well this is what God demands" in response to these concerns is a very dangerous line of argument, because it means what God demands is people adhere to a self-destructive belief system. It is functionally little different than an Imam encouraging a Jihadist suicide bomber. "Yeah what I told you to do made it impossible for you to live but you'll have your reward in heaven." I think I speak for most Western men when I say: no thanks. Religion is supposed to offer people moral guidance and wisdom that improves their lives. If it is not doing this, there are only two possibilities: a) the scripture itself is fatally flawed or b) the interpretation and application of the scripture is incorrect. I care about Christianity's survival so I am going with the latter.

This is a wildly optimistic view of the future. Allow me to give a much more sober minded prediction on what will occur should we be crushed in 2028: What will immediately happen first on the Republican/Right wing side of the aisle is that the still existent Establishment will immediately swing leftward. They will blame MAGA for being far too right wing, too extremist, and attempt to get back to fiscal conservatism, small government, and family values, dropping all pushes for immigration restrictions or fighting for White Americans, or Christianity which seeks to assert itself in the public sphere. Anyone who is connected with this or with MAGA will be systematically purged from all levers of power, every position possible, and they will be replaced as much as they can be by the Brilyn Hollyhands of the world, alongside a massive DEI push to get every single non-White and/or female possible who is even slightly in their favor to fill every possible position they can in an attempt to win back minority voters whom they will blame MAGA for chasing away, and whom they will assert are natural conservatives. Essentially, almost everyone to the right of Lindsay Graham will get fully assaulted by a resurgent Neocon wing. The Neocon wing will win, as they have vastly more money, more power, and are better at playing politics than you or I or most like us. It doesn’t end there. On the left wing Democrat side, as they take power, they will push for three things first and foremost. First, increased immigration and amnesty. They will likely create a program to deliberately find and bring back virtually everyone deported and hand them citizenship immediately as reparations for the human rights abuses they underwent from ICE. More amnesty will come under the same justification. Refugees will be let in enmasse. It will put what the Biden admin did to shame. Overnight, irreparable demographic transformation of the population. It does not end there, as secondly they will ensure Democracy reigns supreme. In order to most effectively utilize this new citizen base to get them to vote, measures will be taken to encourage electoral participation. They will likely make Election Day a holiday to increase voter turnout as an example. This will make it so there is a snowballs chance in hell of ever dethroning them in an election and they will secure permanent presidential victory alongside an unbeatable supermajority in all houses. And even still, they will do more. Because they will weaponize every aspect of the judicial system and the weight of the government on you, on me, on everyone who exists who even remotely poses a threat. Look at what happened to VDare. Now apply that nationwide. The IRS is going to audit and scrutinize everyone on the right. The FBI is going to investigate and embed themselves and arrest as many as they can. By 2032, MAGA, America First, and NXR for that matter will be a distant memory. You will have been sued out of existence, your entire website and operation deplatformed from everything, and more than likely, antifascists have firebombed your home or otherwise threatened or harmed you and your family because their networks now have tacit support from the state to do so through their robust support network of NGOs and judicial apparatus which will decline to prosecute or give slaps on the wrist for doing so. This is what is most likely to occur, because if the enemy is even half competent they will do all of that and more. You are right in one aspect though Joel. The best way to avoid all of this is by ensuring that Republicans do not lose in 2028, because even a government that will do literally nothing is far preferential to our enemies ruling over us.

The Afroman Trial. -Cops raid Afromans house for bullshit reasons. -Steal money, break his door, fuck his house up. -No criminality found whatsoever, no charges at all pressed on Afroman. -Afroman spends the next 3 years making songs that make fun of all the officers involved by name, even using footage of the raid from his own CCTV cameras. -Songs had titles like "Randy Walters is a son of a bitch" and "Lick Em Low Lisa" accusing one of the officers of being a lesbian and sleeping with the other officers wives. -During the raid one officer looked like he was about to eat some lemon pound cake sitting on Afromans counter, Afroman made a whole album calling the officer fat. -The cops get mad and file a lawsuit for defamation. -Afroman turns up to court in a whole American flag suit. -Officers performatively mald and cry while listening to the songs really trying to oversell how badly the songs upset them. -One officer was suing because Afroman made a whole song about him saying he was fucking the officers wife. When the officer was asked if Afroman was really fucking his wife, he said "I don't know". Nuking his own case and establishing that there is a non-zero chance that Afroman might actually be fucking his wife. -As his only witness for the trial, Afroman brought a deputies EX FUCKING WIFE. -The jury ruled completely in favour of Afroman. This entire thing has been a great win for free speech and absolutely fucking hilarious.
