Here we are, in front of the pleasant but unsafe homes we were sold by @NHGhousing who are taking no responsibility for solving our crisis. The beauty of the park opposite contrasts with the man made hell of our #claddingscandal

So, looks like most of our development will be remediated with no cost to #leaseholders 🤞 BUT one block remains in limbo - No firm guarantee @CountrysidePPLC will pay, no real update on #BSF. This hell for us started nearly 2 years ago and still no resolution.

New: Michael Gove tells builders their current plans to fund the cladding crisis “falls short of full and unconditional self- remediation” and if they don’t come up with a plan he likes by the end of the month - he will “impose a solution in law.” @LBC

Looks like the Relay Building was also caught up in the post-Grenfell building safety crisis. As you can see it’s made of glass - so no cladding. But it has timber on balconies which now have to be replaced, trapping residents while they decide who pays

@EOCS_Official @natfednews @G15London @CommonsLUHC @CIHhousing @michaelgove @team_greenhalgh @lisanandy @mtpennycook @MayorofLondon @HousingOmbuds HAs are very clearly failing to provide even the basic services, information and customer care that leaseholders need - and that they pay for. In short, HAs are making a bad situation significantly worse; this is a dereliction of their duty of care.#sharedownership

We would like to thank @luhc for this afternoon’s meeting on its new measures to protect leaseholders caught up in the #BuildingSafetyCrisis, measures which have been announced in the last few minutes. We will be issuing a statement shortly. #EndOurCladdingScandal

The more I think about this, the more I realise I don’t just want all the parties involved- developers, approved inspectors, fire engineers, surveyors, builders to pay to fix the #CladdingScandal and #firedefects, I actually want #compensation for the distress I’ve been put thru.

Today MPs debate the start of the long-awaited leasehold reform, looking at a law that would restrict ground rent on new leases to a nominal amount. Read more in this week's newsletter: buff.ly/3IzPf0T

@cyrilmoseley I don't think they are proposing stay put policy there but instead will put in an 'evacuation alert system'. Not the expert here but reading the fire strategy, it appears the regs are still very loose unfortunately.

Rejected for public funding, this Manchester block is caught up in a corporate web showing how hard it is to make companies pay as Gove has pledged: No one will pay to fix our unsafe flats — and now we could lose our homes thetimes.co.uk/article/efd5ff…
