Congratulations to Maru & team on the lab’s latest pub! PP5 requires the molecular chaperone Hsp90 to dephosphorylate CRaf kinase and Hsp90 cochaperone Cdc37. Here, authors show how Hsp90 acts as a platform to allow for targeted dephosphorylation by PP5. nature.com/articles/s4146…

Check out our latest preprint showing that the major protein enclosing the Phage Nucleus (PhuN) forms a tetrameric lattice with C2 symmetry. The symmetry establishes 4 unique interfaces, two large enough to act as channels for small molecules, RNA, or even unfolded proteins.

Excited to share our findings about the self-assembly of the phage nucleus! In short: it’s primarily composed of a single ~70 kDa protein and forms a beautiful (I may be a little biased 😍) C2 symmetric lattice! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
