People often say doctors sound calmer than nurses. But the reason is not that doctors are “better behaved.” It is the difference in battlefield position. Nurses are at the bedside continuously. They face the first anger. The repeated questions. The anxious attendants. The medication delays. The bed issues. The “doctor kab aayega?” pressure. The orders they did not make but still have to explain. Doctors usually enter, assess, decide and leave. Nurses stay. So sometimes what people call “rudeness” is actually exhaustion from being the human shock absorber of the ward. A good hospital should not compare doctors and nurses. It should protect both.
