I'm 32 and tired. I need honest advice. I lost my husband when my daughter was just 5 months old. He left everything in her name. I'm a nurse and run a small shop, so I've always stood on my own. Two years later, I remarried. Just 4 months in, my new husband said his business was failing. Since then, I've been handling almost all the bills. I even gave him ₦2M to support him. Instead of things getting better, he kept demanding more. When I asked what happened to the money, he got upset and left. Now I've found out he secretly married another woman and even built a house for her. She's pregnant for him. We've been apart for 4 months. During a family meeting, he claimed he left because I refused to buy a car in his name. The painful part? My own mother and siblings are supporting him. They say I should transfer my shop and car to his name to “save my marriage.” They're also pressuring me because of my age and my child. But he has made it clear, he's not leaving the other woman. Now I'm stuck… Should I give up everything I've worked for (and what belongs to my daughter) just to keep this marriage? Or should I walk away and start over?

Dear Yorubas, I am really curious to know, is it part of your culture to come back to your benefactor the next day to say “thanks for yesterday”? I’ve noticed that EVERY Yoruba person that I’ve assisted on this app would send a message the next day to say “thank you for yesterday”. The group stated that they will no longer tolerate disrespect, desecration, or disregard for their sacred traditions and ancestral heritage. The demanded atonement rites include 16 he-goats, 16 roosters, and three kegs of palm oil, which they described not as acts of hostility but as recognized cultural processes of restitution and spiritual cleansing after desecration.
