@wellstrafer @MrYGuy2 Depends on the game even then I was talking in terms of what the characters are capable of lore wise not game play wise. Lore wise JRPGs have you beating the fragments of gods in the middle levels and then fighting a god in the end game while western RPGs treat you as mundane.

@AnimeProblem01 @MrYGuy2 western rpg's typically put more focus on player mechanical skill rather than character statistics so it does make sense that the character is weaker when the player's abilities govern whether they achieve victory or not

@mjstrittmatter @HantumanN4 @YellowFlashGuy It's actually insane how revelant Skypiea is to the current story its plot threads themes and overall message are almost direct parallels to imu and the battle of false and true deities.

@HantumanN4 @YellowFlashGuy None of those happened on skypea; those were all on the island on the ground; most what happened actually on skypea had less relevance for the plot.

I didn’t like One Piece Season 2 as much as the first season. Not to say it’s a bad show. But, when I first watched it I didn’t know anything about OP. With season 2, I’m completely caught up with the anime and the manga. So, I can’t help but compare every thing. I’ll discuss it in detail tomorrow on FC.

@AnimeProblem01 What solution did she look for though? I'm not gonna get too much into details about the Tower for obvious reasons, but the game makes it clear that she DID use the shaman in order to rise to power. She was able to get revenge for hundreds of years but chose not to.

“There is no one left to answer, and Marika never returned home again.” This might be the saddest piece of lore in the DLC. I can’t help but feel for Marika… despite everything.

@HkonMk I have a lot of thoughts about this area, especially the erdtree incantation you get. I want to feel sad for marika, I REALLY do. But everything does point to her just abandoning her own people in favor of power, and I think that's the core of her character.
