That 2017 Auburn team has to be sick this morning. Two-loss Auburn lost 28-7 to Georgia after crushing the Bulldogs in the regular season, and fell out of the playoff. Two-loss Alabama lost 28-7 to Georgia after winning on the road in the regular season and makes it in.

Winning over a team as talented as Ohio State in the Big Ten title game speaks for itself. But for Indiana to hold Ohio State to a single TD, that coming on a short field after a turnover, and limiting Buckeyes to 58 rush yards is the stuff of legends for the Hoosiers’ defense.

What seems to be missing from so much of the Lane Kiffin discourse is the whole point of ***all of this*** are THE GAMES. Ole Miss is vastly closer to winning a title today than LSU ... yet Kiffin is trading that reality for the hope of tomorrow. And that sucks for the sport.

I’ve been less worried about that with Kiffin, himself, but some of these young guys will be loyal to their position coaches. I think the story of the game is this: Vandy: ~9 yards per rush UT: < 3 yards per rush UT won the turnover battle 2-0, had fewer penalties, & were almost 70% on 3rd Down. Ultimately, this game always comes down to blocking and tackling, and Vandy won big in both areas today.
