@spandrell4 The real story is American lay Catholics built a private apologetics presence and it boomed in the age of video. Another aspect is return to tradition. Younger clergy are more traditional, and the modernists never cemented their changes.

In a sane world Christopher Hale would be excommunicated for his insane list of hostile activities against the Church: - Suing nuns to force them into paying for abortions - Campaigning for abortion - Defrauding donors and funneling money from his NGO into his personal bank account - Deliberately lying about the Pentagon and Vatican to sew discord among Christians - Lying about the Pentagon's chapel not serving Catholics The list goes on. He is literally a demon.

I am not trying to make my Catholic friends, who I love, angry with this statement. But this entire episode is starting to explain to me why so many Americans were concerned about a Catholic president for so long. I have no interest in Rome trying to dictate American policy. And if it continues to loudly make its opinions heard on our foreign policy, I believe they’re going to find a lot of American Protestants feeling a lot less ecumenical than we have been in the more recent past.

🚨 DHS has officially rolled out the “shoes on” campaign for everyone, not just for pre-check. Which means you no longer have to take off your shoes in US airports while gliding through the scanner. DHS cites two reasons for the change. 1. Speed and efficiency 2. Indians do not wear socks which spreads infections like staph and MRSA

The New York Times reports that 12 of the ~1500 January 6 rioters have reoffended in about a year's time—calling it a "crime spree". The recidivism rate of the J6ers is 0.8%. The average 1 year US re-arrest rate, by contrast, is 43%. funny how that works
