• Initial pick: 1/3 chance it’s the job offer.
• The other two envelopes combined: 2/3 chance the job offer is in there.
• When the interviewer reveals a rejection from one of those two, they’re effectively concentrating that entire 2/3 probability onto the one remaining envelope.
