One of my founders @CSarabalis sent this to me One of their engineers was doing lithography and the residue left this pattern This actually happened Divine intervention Immaculate conception Hardware is hard 🤣

Most people hate saying no. Most people don’t ask for things, for fear the other person will say no. Most people don’t like intervening when someone is working on something. Most people are hesitant to run with something at work, for fear another person will intervene.

@sdamico probably a dumb approach would be to to etch the fiber down in HF and wind it tight around a spool. activating a few more brain cells, I bet you could etch nano grass into the cladding. if this post gets 10 billion likes, I'll do it.

@sdamico you don't have to coat the fiber. you can drop the high power signal from the cladding before the transceiver.

these drones are using un-coated fiber optic, which means external light at the right angle can couple in and damage the receiver electronics. if you coat the fiber, you shorten the range dramatically. filtering gets defeated w/ a polychromatic laser system

@sdamico why? any reason a SM system with good spatial filtering can't eliminate side channels?

“Warfighter” What does it mean that we’ve stopped using the romantically rooted “soldier” in favor of the dually Germanic origin compound word (compounding making it even more German) “warfighter”? What do we call warfighters that don’t fight in wars?

Unpopular opinion: Manufacturing doesn't have a "talent shortage." It has a management shortage. People will run CNC machines, weld, and fabricate all day if leadership actually invests in them. The people usually are not the problem. The systems are.

@Gerardeaus2 It’s easier to check because I can always just go down to the local zoo to calibrate the elephant weight. Much easier than having to travel to Paris everytime to use the kilogram standard.

One of the most common discussion topics in energy these days is the shortage of transformers, and why manufacturing capacity isn’t scaling to meet the moment. Great article today on why exactly that is so hard to do. wsj.com/business/the-f…

Laser cut 3M VHB 5952 foam adhesive is now available at SendCutSend. It’s my favorite way to stick stuff together. “3M VHB 5952 is a closed-cell acrylic foam adhesive that bonds metal, glass, painted surfaces, and plastics with durable, weather-resistant performance. Unlike mechanical fasteners or liquid adhesives, VHB creates a clean, uniform bond line that absorbs vibration and distributes stress evenly. It’s frequently used in automotive and industrial assemblies where a long-term, clean bond is needed without drilling or clamping.”

In Ukraine, tanks were fed to drones, the drones countered by jammers, and now those jammers are being defeated with fiber. FPV's are lugging spools of it around the front – but not for long. Today Flux Photonics announces our $4M seed to cut the cord and wirelessly link drones with lasers.
