Every new car in the U.S. will be required by law to have tech that puts constant surveillance on the driver by 2027. AI in your car will determine if you're sober and fit to drive, automatically turning off the vehicle if it determines you're a danger on the road.

Reminder to every Ontarian: Back when Kathleen Wynne and the Liberals forced through the privatization of Hydro One, they swore up and down it would be good for ratepayers. As usual… They lied. Costs didn’t stabilize — they **skyrocketed**. Families and businesses got hammered with some of the highest electricity bills in North America while Liberal insiders and their friends cashed in. Now watch this old clip of Wynne and the Liberals being called out for the exact same fairy tale they’re still trying to sell you today. Liberals don’t change. They just keep lining their own pockets and those of their connected friends while the rest of us pay the bill. Same party. Same playbook. Same results. How many more times are we going to fall for this scam? Drop a 🔥 if you remember the Hydro One betrayal. #cdnpoli #Ontario #HydroOne #LiberalCorruption

This morning I was this close to golden, crispy waffles… until I opened a brand-new, unopened box of PC organic pancake mix and found it crawling with bugs. Not one package — TWO. The first was a brand-new unopened box of PC pancake mix. The second was a sealed plastic package of organic PC mix. Both completely sealed straight from the store. That’s exactly why I always open my pancake mix (or flour) and let it sit first. A couple times now I’ve bought regular flour and organic flour from Costco, found bugs inside, and had to return it — so now I check everything this way. Just to be clear, these bugs came in the sealed packaging, not from inside my house. So yeah… eggs and toast it is (again). 🤮 @PresChoice @LoblawsON @costcocanada @presidentschoice #WaffleFail #PantryPests #PCPancakeMix #FlourBugs #LetItSit

🚨 Alto high-speed rail backlash mounts as landowners warn of expropriation, $90B ballooning cost, and transparency failures🚆 Conservative MP Philip Lawrence joins the chorus of rural residents sounding the alarm on property rights violations, soaring costs, potential conflicts of interest, and cautionary failures of similar mega-projects. Concern is mounting among rural landowners as opposition intensifies against the federal government’s proposed $90-billion high-speed rail project, Alto. Conservative MP Philip Lawrence called the project a “boondoggle” at the Ontario Landowners Association general meeting in Cobourg on April 18, warning of imminent expropriation of private property along the proposed corridor. “If I’m a landowner along there, I’m rightfully concerned,” Lawrence said. “Partially because I just haven’t received any information… for this trade-off, for this $90 billion, what are we getting here? And we’re just not hearing any communication.” Opposition has rightfully intensified, as rural residents receive notices requesting that project representatives enter their private property for surveys and soil assessments. Lawrence pointed to what he described as inadequate outreach by project officials, arguing that poor communication is fueling grassroots resistance, and that landowners are owed transparency about routes, impacts, and infrastructure plans. At the center of the controversy is not just the project’s ballooning price tag, but also new powers under federal legislation. Lawrence criticized provisions in Bill C-15 that expand the government’s ability to expropriate private land, calling the move “chilling” and one that “should cause us all to have some questions about this process.” Beyond property rights, Lawrence raised concerns about the broader economic justification for the project. Quoting economist Thomas Sowell, he framed the debate in terms of trade-offs. “In politics, there are no choices, just trade-offs,” Lawrence said. “So what are we getting for $90 billion? And again, we’re not hearing answers.” He warned that costs could climb far beyond initial estimates, citing examples like California’s high-speed rail system with its near tripling of the original $45 billion budget to an eye-watering $120 billion, for this “train to nowhere.” Meanwhile, Canadians outside the proposed corridor would be footing the bill for infrastructure they may very well never use. “How do you go to someone in Calgary and say, ‘We need $8,000 from your household for a train you’ll likely never ride?’” Lawrence asked. He also challenged the Liberal government’s framing of Alto as a “nation-building” initiative, arguing its geographic scope is too limited to justify that label. Instead, he advocated for more practical, cost-effective infrastructure investments that “make business sense.” Lawrence highlighted potential disruptions to local communities, noting that high-speed rail requires fewer crossings due to safety constraints. The result, he warned, will be divided neighbourhoods and dramatically longer commute times. “If your work is on the other side of the track, your commute could go from five minutes to 45,” he said. “If your hospital is on the other side… every minute counts.” Questions are also being raised about potential conflicts of interest tied to the project. The Conservatives have since called for an ethics investigation into Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne’s involvement with Alto. His spouse, Anne-Marie Gaudet, is the Vice-President of Environment at Alto. While an ethics screen has been acknowledged, Lawrence questioned how effective it is given Champagne’s voting record and continued involvement in decisions that may benefit the Alto project. “What is the value of an ethics screen if it actually doesn’t do anything?” he asked. Despite the Liberal government securing a governing advantage in Parliament, Lawrence says opposition efforts will continue, relying heavily on grassroots mobilization. “Don’t get angry — organize,” he urged. “If you want to be effective, focus on the Liberal members along the line. They need to know there’s opposition, and that votes are at stake.” @TamaraUgo

Some personal news. Lost my brother this week. The guy who looked after me when I was a kid. The one who coached my baseball teams. The one who loved his hometown, Farnham, with everything he had. The one who taught me how to play hockey. The one who inspired me to become a DJ. The one who got me my first board seat at the Farnham youth center. The one who bought me my first car. The one who helped me start a business when I was young… that guy. He’s gone. Jean—“Charlie” at home—passed away wednesday at 61. A father of three, a grandfather of two, taken far too quickly by an aggressive cancer that gave us only weeks. I broke down when I found out in early March. I was at the Toronto airport, waiting for a flight. I’ll never forget that moment. I knew time wasn’t on our side. We asked him what he wanted to do. He wanted to see the Blue Jays play Los Angeles Dodgers and Shohei Ohtani in Toronto. My twin brother Patrick pulled off something incredible—planned a trip in days. Early April. The Fairmont Royal York. Even some curling, dressed as bananas with the “Peel,” before the game. The Jays lost 14–2. Didn’t matter. We were together. And deep down, we all knew it would be the last time. Tonight, I’m thinking about my father, who just lost his first son. No parent should have to live that. I’m thinking about his daughters—Roxanne, Laurie, Rosalie—his granddaughters Élise and Alice, and Alex, the father. An entrepreneur for over four decades. Vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce. President of the Farnham golf club. He loved Farnham—and Farnham loved him back. This is a brutal loss for our family. But that’s life. F*ck cancer. Rest easy, my big brother. Go join Mom—she’s been watching over us for nearly 17 years. Give her a hug for all of us. Salut, Charlie.

China owns Canada’s ONLY antimony mine. And shut it down. Antimony is in every bullet, every missile, every night-vision system. No army on earth can fight a day without it. China bought the Beaver Brook mine in Newfoundland for $29.5 million. Shuttered it in 2023. One year later, Beijing banned antimony exports to the US military. Prices went from $5,900/tonne to nearly $60,000. This mine could produce 5% of global supply. Instead it sits idle under Chinese state control, an hour from a Canadian military base designated for F-35s. The US launched a $10 billion critical minerals reserve. Signed 11 bilateral deals. Canada signed zero. Carney calls China a “strategic partner.” China is using our own resources as a weapon against the West.

I walked out right next to Jake Tapper & looked him in the eye. “How dare you? You’ve caused so much division in this country with your lies. I’m done calling it gaslighting — you’ve LIED to the American people.” These reporters have spent a decade spreading absolute lies about President Trump. They share some of the blame for what happened tonight. As a mother, I’m exhausted by it. I couldn’t stay silent and walk out pretending someone like Jake Tapper is one of the good guys.

I can’t believe how lax the security was at the White House correspondents dinner tonight. Upon entering nobody asked to visibly INSPECT my ticket nor asked for my photo identification. All one had to do was flash what appeared to be a ticket and they were fine with that. When you consider you are entering a roomful of fake news media —90% of whom hate the President you would think they would have better security. This is what happened when what sounded like gunfire erupted. On the way out, I called-out a bunch of the disgusting Media who have been pushing hatred toward President Trump for years. They are a big part of the discord in this country.

🇨🇦 youth job market is breaking. A 20-year-old with 6 years of restaurant experience says nowhere would hire her. Another young worker says she works full-time and can barely afford rent. Meanwhile youth unemployment (15–24) has climbed to 14%. Study hard. Get experience. Work hard. And still end up locked out. This is how a generation starts losing faith in the system.

MILTON WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE SAFE BET. Instead, it’s becoming a warning sign of what happens when debt, rising rates, and stagnant wages collide. 🔹 One Milton detached home bought in 2022 for $2.26M just sold for $1.7M. 🔹 That’s a $560,000 loss. 🔹 Milton has the highest share of mortgaged homeowner households in Canada at nearly 80%. 🔹 Food bank usage in Halton jumped 25% from 2023 to 2024. 🔹 Some homeowners are reportedly building basement apartments before homes are even completed… just to help cover costs. 🔹 Others are delaying retirement or going back to work. This isn’t downtown condo speculation. This is suburban family housing in Milton. The pain has moved beyond condos. When the “safe suburbs” start cracking… people should pay attention.

I do respect the Forever Canada canvassers. I say it a bit tongue in cheek sometimes, but I honestly mean it. They went out, put in the work, collected signatures, and participated in the process. That said, I’m deeply suspicious of the accuracy of their numbers. They didn’t need to check ID. There were all kinds of rumours about seniors being misled, people being told Alberta would lose pensions or become part of the U.S., and even claims that grandkids were being signed up. Then during verification, nearly 50,000 signatures were thrown out because of fraud concerns. When that many get tossed and then the scrutiny stops, that should raise eyebrows. Meanwhile, on the Alberta independence side, we’ve had to check ID's and we've seen massive lineups, huge events, and thousands of people showing up openly and enthusiastically. You didn’t see that same visible momentum with Forever Canada. But honestly, that’s beside the point. The bigger point is that both sides wanted this petition. Both sides signed for this process. Even if the leader of the Forever Canada petition is backing away now, the paperwork says what it says. So let’s put it to bed. Have the referendum.
